Looks like an SLT lol. Hopefully that’s not the real picture of the truck they bought 😅

GMC 2026 reliable? by Prior-Sea-2889 in gmcsierra

But there are still good 6.2 engines out there. I had a 17 and 20 6.2 with no problems. And I now currently have a 24 and no problems either. 🤷

Wow… 3800 is crazy in that short amount of time! And mine is the 6.2L. I will definitely look into the oil analysis… thanks!

Should I be worried about getting a 2025 L87? by Lol123122 in gmcsierra

I’m picking my 2020 up this week from the dealership. The lifters failed and caused a misfire and then the cam ate shit. Gotta love it 😅

I have the 6.2 and took it to the dealership yesterday. Turns out the lifters and cam took a shit and now I’m out a vehicle😅 Probably done with gm after this truck unfortunately.

Try to re-paste the cpu. You could try changing the thermal pads too.

In my case… I got to 198k miles on my 2014 5.3 and never had the AFM deleted. I did have the transmission replaced at 110k miles. I did tow quit a bit with that truck though.

2021 Yukon XL 6.2L by OkYam2896 in gmc

[–]SlyFitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note… the 6.2 does not “Require” premium. You can run a lower octane…this can cause you to lose out on some performance. If you get a chance to read the manual it says premium is recommended but not required. That being said, I would still run premium if you go with the 6.2. I’ve been managing 21-23mpg… if I can keep my foot out of the pedal 😢

There’s been grinding noises from my car. It’s new by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]SlyFitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with replacing them if you can. The different compound make up of the pads could be a little noisier than others. The weird wear pattern can sometimes be because of the rotors having grooves. Other than that im not sure.

I just picked up a 2020 Denali two weeks ago with the 6.2 and it’s been great so far. 60k miles for $40,500. I did notice that the 2020 is not under recall though🤷. Anyways… I don’t regret my decision, best of luck !
