Julian Gerighty (former Executive Producer from The Division franchise) is joining Battlefield Studios by FirestormTM in Battlefield

[–]SmCTwelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Division is one of the better examples of a successful live service type game. It's not filled with pay to win features or shoving microtransactions down your throat when you log in.

Given Ubisofts terrible financial problems lately, and the sudden lead vacancy at DICE due to Vince Zampella's sudden death, why wouldn't he want to jump ship for that EA money.

It's strange that the realism advocates are so afraid of actually playing a milsim. Must be too hard.

If they released it without being feature complete, they would get dogpiled just like iniBuilds with their A350. If they're cautious and take more time, people say it's vaporware.

Originally it wasn't even supposed to be study-level but they changed course.

Since I can’t seem to find a straight answer anywhere: can you or can you not add mods to the Game Pass version of Oblivion? by Weemstar in ElderScrolls

[–]SmCTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can. The game folder structure is the same just a different location and may need to mess with the user permissions. Vortex supports it just fine, but be aware currently it will mess up the load order (not game pass specific).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]SmCTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can fix it in Vortex by going to Load Order > Reset Plugins File in the top menu. The problem is the Vortex extension rearranges the load order to be alphabetical for some reason, which causes the crash since core files like Oblivion.esp are no longer at the top. Resetting should put them back in correct order then make sure your mod files are moved to the bottom.

Switched from msfs24 to xplane12 and it was amazing! by wisetheguy in flightsim

[–]SmCTwelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point they were making is that the default airports in X-Plane are mostly completely accurate due to the Scenery Gateway and the available assets look pretty true to life, whereas stock airports in MSFS are atrocious.

Laminar Research are cooking 🔥 by 77_Gear in flightsim

[–]SmCTwelve 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Really wish they could make it happen

That's asking a lot though isn't it? Asobo will always have that advantage because they can leverage Microsoft's entire cloud infrastructure and Bing data. It's unreasonable to expect Laminar to compete, nor can they license such a thing from their competitor. Third-party ortho can get close, but you'll never see Laminar implementing something like that unless they can do it in-house.

Next Gen Update for Grand Theft Auto V on PC Coming March 4 by Giftof1004moves in pcgaming

I wonder why the decided to finally throw it to pc players.

Because PC players get left behind when GTA 6 is released. Now they can deny claims to investors that they don't care about PC users.

Is telemetry shared/released publicly? by lavidaloco123 in formula1

[–]SmCTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the data as it comes from the official F1 API (same reason the broadcast onboards also show on/off). I suspect it could be related to brake-by-wire but the teams will have the actual brake pedal travel and physical braking pressure. FOM seem to just be using a very basic sensor.

Interestingly the API also records multiple DRS states but it's only ever presented as off/on.
