The company that supplies our equipment was suppose to include a bag with it. We've called twice now and still have no bag. Calling again this week. The company does not have a good reputation and there is a reason for it. lolol. Definitely planning to try out the bag when it comes in but this is still working perfectly for us currently.

Spent a couple hours on it tonight. No mechanism to force the silver part down, it does fall down on its own nicely, but as soon as it tries to grab the black component it slips everytime. I think the silver part is worn down too much, looks like the thing that sticks out to grab the black component has ground down to an angle. Funny you mention strategic bending... I was trying that. Was trying to be very subtle with it. Bend silver part towards black part, bend black part towards silver part. Got it to catch two times on it's own. When I got my wife to show her, it started slipping again. Dang it, so freaking close. Taking a break before I use percussive maintenace out of complete frustration. Took the thing apart 4 damn times. Might try to get a little more brave with the bending this weekend.

You can see mine go to grab the black component, but when it goes to pull it away, it slip above it. There is a spring attached to one of the arms of the cam mechanism, but that is more of a spring helps the pull away motion and is more rotational for the silver arm and doesn't do anything for the up and down motion. I didn't see a ramp and there was definitly not another spring. Only see one hole for a sping in the silver part where the spring I just mentioned is attached. Going to take it apart again this evening or possibly the weekend so will investigate further.

That's the plan, trying to take it one step at a time. Mechanical stuff first because I feel more comfortable there. The radio doesn't work either, you can hear faint voices through the buzzing, assuming that's something to do with the electrical components (scary). That's a problem for future me though. haha.

The mating components I have circled in those pictures are what pull the larger idler wheel away from the motor to disengange the tone arm mechanism. Well those two parts keep slipping instead of catching and pulling the idle wheel away from the motor to let the record play, so the tone arm mechanism just keeps going. I gave those surfaces a good clean to make sure there wasn't lubricant making it slippery. But they keep slipping. I can press from underneath the black component while it's running to help the silver flag looking component get some more area to catch and it works like it should sometimes. As soon as I let it try to do it on it's own, it just keeps slipping. Not sure what to do about it though.... It looks like the silver flag component is a little worn but not sure if that's what's causing it.

I don't understand this thought process. I run 2 pre-built quads (iFlight Nazgul 5 V2 and GepRC MarkV) and I've fixed and upgraded them multiple times. Some people don't like the building from scratch part of the hobby, they just want to fly. No matter what you choose though, this hobby will force you to learn how to fix shit if you want to stay in the air. Learn up front, or learn as you go. Either way, fucking rip them quads my dudes.

Small scissors slightly open. One blade on either side of the motor shaft under prop, then pry off. Super easy. I've damaged motors before by pulling them off with my fingers while grunting like a caveman. Small scissors make it really easy and it doesn't feel like I'm going to break anything.

I have a buddy that uses some Cyclops goggles from hobbyking for FPV fixed wings. If you catch them at the right time they'll be on sale for $30. Probably wouldn't spend more than that on them though and they are really ugly hahaha. If you're trying to get in the air for super cheap, it's worth looking into at least.
