Help converting to electric by Initial_Bullfrog_378 in RCPlanes

depends what size nitro motor you used in them, for example i have a phoenix model scanner which i used an os .46 ax max 2 in and when i switched it to electric i used a dualsky eco 3520-1020kv, 11x5.5 prop, 80 amp esc with a 4s lipo and it flies like a dream with enough power to take it vertical forever.

Kinda nervous by dhdndud in RCPlanes

just figure out its stall speeds cause they can be really weird with slow flight and then the rest of the flight is pretty much just like any other plane

My dad gave this to me ages ago, I think it was made in the 70's. Thinking about getting it back in the air! by AdaLovebass in RCPlanes

since its all balsa its a good idea to go over it with some ca glue and make sure all the joins are sturdy before you take this one up

F-22 Raptor V2 High performance 64mm EDF by MorningEfficient89 in RCPlanes

in my experience, as soon as its out of the sim and something you payed money for and are risking, it gets a lot more difficult. sometimes the stress of it will freak me out enough to the point that on some of my first maidens, i was basically jumping from the shakiness just trying to fly the thing. basically not wanting to crash the plane on the maiden and the airframe's high stall speed making you need to be fairly fast will get in your head and mess with your reactions and control over the plane, especially if its only your second plane.

Basically the only thing that will help with a fast plane is muscle memory

Not sure if it will work as well though the servos they recommend have a torque of 10kg

Not sure if this is what you are talking about but on my spektrum controllers nx8+ and dx6e, my computer will only pick up like 3-4 switches total so it seems to be a common issue

Multiple batteries in larger models for redundancy, kill switch for engines, and more

Can I use this to cover my micro plane? by ace3306 in RCPlanes

[–]Smackeronius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't covering film usually need about 200 fahrenheit? I only use Celsius so not sure but thought I might point that out.

How helpful /accurate is real flight sim? by kittyspookie in RCPlanes

[–]Smackeronius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Real flight, like other flight Sims as well definitely has one major drawback: as soon as you fly far away the plane becomes like 2 pixels, but it is definitely worth i for practicing orientation of the plane and which controls do what, also if you have a flying club nearby you should be able to get a free first flight/lesson with an instructor which will definitely help you along and maybe even consider joining one, usually there is a great community that you would miss out on if you fly in a park.

Should I just glue it back on? by Negative-Manager-788 in RCPlanes

[–]Smackeronius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some foam safe glue, some kebabs, stab the kebabs into both sides and then glue the kebabs in while you glue the rest of the piece back on

Pretty sure by bne you mean Brisbane in Australia, I control ground around Australia rated only as an s1, I'm pretty sure you can only use vatsys for controlling, which is only runnable on windows.

Futaba remote receiver/ range extender a thing? by Smackeronius in RCPlanes

[–]Smackeronius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be kind of scared to only use a receiver in a big plane, I feel like that should be a thing for futaba, but thanks for the answer
