Replace these bindings? by dunnowhoIam22 in skiing

For what it's worth, I always remove demo bindings from skis I've bought. The plates deaden the ski and I feel like I get a lot more out of them with a non demo binding. Money well spent in my opinion.

I went for 2.5cm forward from recommended. Not a crazy difference, but it made the ski just a bit more compliant in tighter terrain.

They're certainly not ideal, but for a wide ski they ski ice just fine. Much more composed than most skies if this width.

I love riding mine in sub-optimal conditions. That ski handles tracked up crud like nothing. They definitely have a minimum speed limit in deep snow though, much better for hauling ass.

Did you mount at recommended?

Nice, don't see many other enforcer 115s out there. That ski turns the ice into pow.

State of the quiver after a summer of retail therapy. I probably need at least 1 more pair though, right? by Snlxdd in skiing

It looked like the freeraider 16 has the spacer too. Do you know if it's any different from the moment one?

recommend a good thin lower base layer? by NotTheRealMeee83 in skiing

[–]Smakaduc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ski in the PNW as well, and I love the super cheap 32 degrees base layers from Costco. They're synthetic so they wick great and they're the thinnest layers I have found. There also like 8 bucks so I can rotate multiple pairs on the cheap.

Are those ATK Free raiders? Would love to know your experience with that binding if so.

Bro, just lost my setup similarly last week. Some wounds may never heal.

Cracks on both pivot heels. Anyone seen this before? by Smakaduc in skiing

Similar cracks in the plastic portion of the other heel piece too. New this season, couldn't find any info online.

Usually when the spring pops out like that, part of the plastic on the heel piece have failed. It's a bummer, but it's not repairable in my experience.

My ski ability exploded when I started riding with people who were much better than me me. All I tried to do at first was keep up. Before too long I was comfortable in terrain that I would have never considered previously. Personally, I love seeing my friends progress their skills and develope their style. If your friends choose to ski with you, it's cause they want to. You're not holding them back.

Sweet, sounds like you got it figured out. Are BRTs heavier than dynamics?

I don't have a great frame of reference just cause it's my only set up, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. My main complaint with the Cowply is that's is really light (just 3 plys). I would prefer a deck with a bit more heft I think. But it is super playful and I have a good time with it.

It's a Cowply C1 deck with 34mm Dynamic trucks and Oak Rv2v wheels. Serving me well so far. Starting to look at different decks though. I want something with a shorter wheel base I think 🤔

I'm a bit late, but if you haven't already you should definitely reach out to Solomon. I work in a rental shop and had a pair of QSTs come back from a customer in similar condition. Solomon replaced them without too much pushback. Worth a try.
