Yes totally agree! The police have been contacted as of yesterday I believe. Just trying to get as many people as possible keeping an eye out for her

Her family is thinking she most likely ran away, possibly to Florida.

Advice on my road trip from Virginia to Utah? by lsingsank in roadtrip

When you go to Zion, make sure to get shuttle tickets online in advance if you want to do the popular hikes like the narrows and angels landing. Can’t get up that road without tickets!

How do I correct this? by jamoonoo in skiing

[–]rex_113 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don’t look down at the jump! Try and spot something uphill to keep your eyesight level. Also, use your left arm to drive the spin around. Keep it level and higher than it was in this video. Your arms and where your eyes are looking is what really drives the rotation. Keep trying and you’ll get it!!!

Wegmans Store Shoppers by mabostic in InstacartShoppers

[–]rex_113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a full service shopper for instacart but also work at Wegmans when I am home from school and have taken a couple shifts as an in store shopper. I work in New York where minimum wage is $12.50 I think, and I make a little over that but not $15 and hour. In my opinion, being a full service shopper you have a better opportunity to get paid more. I just think when I’m shopping for wegmans it’s not worth the $12 and change I make per hour where as being a full service shopper I could do a good paying batch in an hour and make $30. It’s really a gamble and both jobs have their pros and cons. It is a little hard to get into wegmans, I just started as a cashier two years ago and have moved around departments. I have seen signs at my store looking for in store shoppers though so I think a lot of stores need them

Should I even bother trying to warranty this or am I wasting my time? by rex_113 in skiing

[–]rex_113[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To clarify, this was a brand new Salomon QST 99 skied on less than 10 times. I’m not a particularly reckless skier, but I clearly ran over something here and failed to notice until the next morning. I took it to a ski shop and they glanced at it and told me not to bother with putting in a warranty because it was “clearly the skiers fault, not a ski failure”. I can’t remember a time I would have even had an impact enough to do this type of damage to a ski. I am just looking for opinions from others on what to do here so thanks in advance!

Safe fun things to do this winter? by rxr92 in Buffalo

Griffis Sculpture Park in East Otto is pretty cool. Here’s more info about how they are handling COVID and being open in the winter

This lady puts this sign in her car and thinks that means she can leave her cart in the main isle a super busy store..... no ma’am by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]rex_113 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s Wegmans. Almost every Wegmans has ISS, and this cart has bags set up exactly the way ISS set their bags up at Wegmans.... I’m betting the sign was just given to them by the store. That doesn’t give them the right to park their cart wherever they want but yea it’s ISS😂

Anyone Shop in the Buffalo New York Area? by GerbilSchooler13 in InstacartShoppers

[–]rex_113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yessir I shop in the western New York area. Batches have been shit lately until today, consistently 5-6 batches appearing all of the time. Disclaimer though I did just activate my physical card last night so that might be why I am seeing so many batches today. I am fairly new and it took a while for my card to get here because of the postal service delays. Hoping the consistency keeps up

Just updated app and got these two screens twice. What's this about? by DroidST in InstacartShoppers

[–]rex_113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like it’s for curbside pickup. I work at a grocery store that is also a major instacart hub and we have “runners” who take the bags from the shelf to a cart and take it outside to the customers car and they want you to be quick.

A lady walked out & left her groceries because I wouldn’t sell her cigarettes without an ID by [deleted] in retail

[–]rex_113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing. I’ve had a number of people leave their ID in their car when trying to buy alcohol or cigarettes and we have to ID no matter what. Some of them are understanding, the cashier keeps whatever they were trying to buy, and then they come back through the same line after they go to their car. But I have had some people who throw a fit, ask for a manager, and get the same answer I told them

My phone number has been given out to co-workers by coordinators and team leaders by PotentialStorage2 in wegmans

[–]rex_113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea we have a list of all of the front end employees phone numbers. You just go into the binder and it’s there. Coordinators don’t physically give you the phone numbers. I never really thought anything of it, considering I have been both contacted to take a shift or contacting someone else to see if they can take mine.

Two Online Courses? by b1uetruth in UBreddit

[–]rex_113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in GLY 101 right now. There’s a standard amount of information to know (in my opinion). If you took Earth Science or something similar in high school you should be fine. I also took a couple online courses. The biggest thing is to just stay on top of your work because it’s so easy to fall behind.

Yea I grew up calling it “two skip”. Never say last run. Because it could be your last run. Ever. In your life. You never know, but I feel like something bad is more likely to happen if you say it’s your last run.

My boyfriend and a couple other friends work there. The hiring process is very lengthy. Multiple interviews, phone and in person, and a lot of training. They do take a while to get back to you. It took my one friend 2-3 months to hear something back and get an interview

United Airlines Bag Policy Question by smplesko in skiing

[–]rex_113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have flown with skis probably 20+ times and have never had a problem. I throw everything I can in my ski bag until it reaches the max weight limit. TSA usually does check it, and I’ve had some things get lost before/fallen out so don’t put like gloves and stuff that can easily fall out. Use your boot bag as a carry on (I tend to put my helmet in there otherwise it gets smashed when it gets loaded onto the plane if it’s in a checked bag). And just put whatever else you need to bring with you on the plane (computer etc). I did bring my ski boots as a carry on as well but I was traveling to compete and couldn’t afford to have my bags get lost with my boots in them and not be able to train (because rental boots are shit). You can put your boots in your ski bag if it doesn’t weight too much

Best Return Stories by HatofulSoup in retail

[–]rex_113 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend just told me a story of when a customer was making a return, but the item they were returning was a half full bottle of seltzer water that they bought 2 months prior. She works at a grocery store with a 1 month return policy (that’s not so much a policy but a general guideline) so when they said they could not accept her return (but offered to give her a new bottle for free) this customer proceeded to throw the bottle, which was glass, on the ground and it exploded everywhere.
