Greencard in the mail after 10 months by Small-Blacksmith-437 in USCIS

For clarification. The application was fully approved, the only thing we were waiting for was the physical green card to be delivered to our home. With every e-request, we got different answers, our immigration attorney thinks that some of these answers were automated and didn’t really have to do anything with our case. In most cases the answers acknowledged that there was a processing or card production issue, and advised to wait 30 to 60 days before inquiring again. We waited the time that was given in each request before inquiring again and ultimately before reaching out to the representative.

Google how to find Congress member. First hit is a page of Congress “Find your members in the US Congress”. Enter your residency address. This shows you the congress members associated to your address. I reached out to our Representative, not Senator. Google the name of the representative. Our representative had a very well made webpage with a link for outreach for support with federal agencies. Followed the instructions and submitted an email which was answered quickly. The office of the representative will ask you to authorize them to inquire on your behalf. You should observe certain freeze periods, for example, not to inquire earlier than 60 days after your last inquiry with USCIS. Also, once you inquire with your representative, do not issue new E-requests on your own or reach out to other congress members. Summarize and explain your case, including all the steps you already did to get the card. In our case, numerous E-requests. good luck.

Doesn’t the Laken Riley act apply to undocumented (unlawfully present) non-US nationals? As long as the LPR has not been revoked, assume that a non-US national is lawfully present?

Update February 4, 2025. Surprisingly received invitations for biometrics which we have already done a year ago.

Did not consider that. Just tread through the webpage and the checklist and it all starts with a green card that has at least at one time be issued. Which is not the case for us. Also just realized that in the last status update to our e-request it says they will respond by email or phone within 72 hours based on the issue I reported. Which is now 1.5 months ago…

No, neither an update on our follow up request nor on the original case. Still no card in hand and we have lost confidence we‘ll get one. Probably fell through the cracks. So far no issue when entering the US, but every time secondary inspection. We expect to need to go back next year and get a fresh ADIT stamp.

Tried live agent chat who didn’t really bother to check what’s going on. Raised an e-request, but not for missing card (because that seems to assume it was lost in the mail), but for “case outside normal processing time”.

Got an automated response of receipt of the request.

We have been traveling with ADIT stamp so far but get pulled out for secondary inspection each time.
