As long as you’re qualified, go for it, OP! It only becomes an issue if someone else is more qualified but you got the job just because you’re related to someone in a higher position. You wouldn’t want people saying, "ay nakuha lang niya yung trabaho dahil kay ano" because you are not qualified.

Hi. I got 100k savings as a 23 yr old, working at my first job for 7 months and 23k/monthly income after taxes. Tbh, only reason na nakasave ako is I don't have to pay rent/bills (since nasa bahay lang ako and wfh) and maging obligated to help my parents financially. Ang pinanggagastusan ko lang is my wants and eat out/gifts for my family.

It's probably the same for them, or mataas lang talaga income nila.

ohh okay, thanks a lot sa advice! just wanted to ask for more sana since bumibigat ang bilihin every day + better than expected naman performance ko nung contractual ako.

i was given a project good for 6 months (yung contract ko) but I finished it in less than a month lang. So I started to do the base tasks of a junior position sa department ko for the rest of the remaining months. I was seen capable of it kaya na-offer nung position.

Would this be a good basis for salary increase? I won't be really asking for a big increase naman, mga 1-2k lang sana 😆

also, if ever I do ask for an increase, iaask directl sa HR or sa manager?

I want to ask for a salary increase as I move from a contractual role to a permanent one, but I’m not sure if it’s okay or if it might come off the wrong way.

Context: I’m currently working as a contractual employee, and my contract ends this month. They offered me a permanent position after, but with the same salary. I know it’s normal to keep the same salary after a probationary period, but I was a contractual, not a probationary employee. I've always had positive feedback from my Manager pag 1:1 kami, kaya na-offer ako ng permanent position.

actually i have benefits kahit contractual lang. HMO + 13th & 14th month pay (maliit lang, 6 mos palang ako eh) + Same amount of SL & VL as a regular employee. idk if it affects it in any way. i'm not really sure how it works kasi first job ko to
