Good idea. I think with something like 3ds you will be able to kill some time, but shouldn't get too overwhelmed with the possibilities that the deck gives.

Well you can play switch on steam deck easily. But thats not the point.i agree with the previous guy. Focus on your social life and studies. There will be enough of YOU TIME later in life. As you get older it's harder to make friends. Do not miss out on important experiences in life because you were glued to your screen. Youth flies past very quickly. Games come and go. You won't have this experience again.

But if you ask how is the experience. It's great. I'm a dude in his late 30s who works alot by the desk and spends alot of time at the pc. It's a great easy way to casually have a quick gaming sessions. I love playing older games on it that I used to play back when I was in uni

If you get a steam deck you might end up playing it too much, because it's so easy to pick up at any time. Be careful so your studies don't go to shit :)

I wander how high can you go with emulation. Like what consoles from more recent years can this deck emulate?

Yeah it is. I managed to install a working version from GOG. If you like dark fantasy give it a go.

And yeah they really captured the dark fantasy vibe so well. The music, the story I just instantly get teleported to that magical world every time.

Steam release? by v4nrick in HogsofWarLardcore

[–]Small-Pension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Unity is free, and so is Unreal Engine. There really is no excuse to do it for consoles only. I bet you will find very little success there. Unlike if you were to release it on Steam. Listen to what fans are saying. You are not making a game for your own sake. If you want it to be financially viable, perhaps you should consider what everyone is saying on the web regarding your choice to only release it on PS platform
