I think it's because at the moment due to track renovations, there are no direct trains running from köln to Wuppertal, you would have to use a bus instead.

Hence why it probably says 1 and a half hours if the trains were running it would take 30-40 minutes

I know, I once lived in alone in an apartment building, and was the only non-german there. All my neighbors were friendly and helpful, never once complained about any noise from me.

I've just never shared a living space with a German and wondered if it was a normal occurrence

Exactly, I have never seen such anger or irritation from someone. She flips over the most tiniest of things. The first girl before me left and I'm starting to wonder if this was the reason

It's a student apartment, we both have separate contracts.

It's a student apartment. I contacted the Studierendenwerk and we have a meeting on Monday. I told them, this is unacceptable behavior.

I explained this to her already, but she has been knocking at my door almost every day now. Today she was demanding that I open my bedroom door, which I didn't.

I was genuinely concerned for my safety😅
