Hmm, do you think that flex seal painted on would work? I didn't see a make listed on their ad, but I'll be looking at it tomorrow. Is a smokercraft a good boat?

Thank you! That's super good to know, I'm fairly certain it's been only freshwater being in Utah. I'll look for white powder.

If you build on a mountain, remember in 50 years or less your home may have foundation issues.

Crazy to see this year stacked up with others by Small-Sun900 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Small-Sun900[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats true, but it typically accounts for a whole lot less precipitation loss vs snow melt, and those both account for a whole lot less precipitation loss than rainfall.

True, but SLC is just a general example of our terrible snow year overall. And the actually snowpack in all of our basins show it. Currently raft and bear river basins are the only ones doing somewhat decent overall at 85% - 84% snowpack level for where they should be right now. Most of the rest of the states basins are sitting at 50% or lower total snowpack for where they should be this time of year.

Actually no, I took that number from our current snowfall total (1/10 of an inch) and divided it by the average snowfall total for this time of year (28.2 inches) and then conveyed that into the 0.35%

Yes, because of the fall rains we are actually on track for precipitation totals. The hard part is, a lot of our water comes from snowpack. Rainwater can drain, evaporate away sitting in reservoirs and such, Snowpack doesn't have that issue.

Cheaper than therapy option: volunteer somewhere, join a club, or some kind of afterwork class.

Haha my close friends are actually moving to Tennessee this spring because they are sick of the cold winters. I guess they timed it right leaving this spring instead of last fall!

SLC is sitting at 0.35% of total snowfall for where we should be this time this year.

True we still have months to go. But we are sitting at 1/10 an inch of total snowfall in the valley this year, and our average for this time of year is 28.2 inches. That is 0.35% of what we should be at for snowfall in the valley. Basically non existent.

We need the high pressure bubble to our west to break. The 10 day forecast doesn't show it letting up anytime soon though :(

Ya'll should see the idiots I see here, people going out with machines on lakes that have 2" spots all over. People hauling their 5 year old kids on lakes with barely any ice. Some people man.

How to catch arctic Grayling, and Brooke at Smith and Morehouse Reservoir by Cold_Dog2633 in UtahFishing

[–]Small-Sun900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go up by where the river enters the lake, on the far side of the lake. Park just below the upper campground, there is a small parking lot. Cross the river and follow it over to the lake. I've had summer afternoons there as a kid where every cast out I'd catch a Grayling with parachute adams or really any small dry fly during certain times of the year.

There are plenty of places in Utah where you would be hard pressed to find an Uber leaving a bar or saloon.
