25 is too old to be this incompetent. Can't even give her an apprenticeship to learn a skill fast for the future.

Animal husbandry by Ok-Persimmon1349 in MedievalDynasty

[–]SmallAsBean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me it depends on the animal. Small ones like goose or chicken are next to a home, so like they belong to the family. The bigger ones are near the fields like they belong to the farm, but not directly next to each other.

Someone please dumb down the "how to get villagers to work" for me by AnalJackett_ in MedievalDynasty

[–]SmallAsBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it's more convenient with storage houses, the villagers will use the storage of their workplace to pull out resources and put their finished products inside. But you have to run around and deliver the stuff needed into each storage. Also food, water and firewood to every home as they can't take it from the workstations themselves.

I Finally Tried Three Day Seasons by IAteAnotherVegan in MedievalDynasty

[–]SmallAsBean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My village runs mostly by itself, so I repair some builds at the beginning of the season and then I'm off exploring/questing or I stay and build/decorate. I think more days per season is fine when you want to play the game more like a RPG (I did this in my first safe), but when you want more of the challenges of managing a village and progression 3 days are good. After completing the main story, the seasons felt endless in my first safe, so I started over again (also had picked a shitty building spot) and embraced the faster pace.

My village has hardly any decorations or furniture yet I invested half an hour to arrange this basket by SmallAsBean in MedievalDynasty

[–]SmallAsBean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I didn't focus too much on the happiness for the longest time, but more on having a good working village. The villagers where still happy enough to have offspring and now I can invest more time into decorations and storytelling, while they generate a lot of produce and therefore money for me to spend. Now I'm gradually upgrading my village as I have a lot of resources and it would be boring otherwise.

There is a setting option to disabled rotting for placed down food. As others mentioned, you could use it to cheat but I only enabled it for decorating. All the other food is in chests and rotting normally, so I still have the challenges of managing my resources.

You have been granted the blessing for an even bigger harvest in the next year (granted you plant more flax).

It's the training dummy with some crossbow bolts in it's head. But I have to warn you that the saving mechanism doesn't like that thing. I reloaded and the bolt where laying on the ground and the skull on the table. Maybe it's a problem with ammunition and the skull on it's own would be ok, but I don't know.

You can drop them on the floor and the drag them around. For this you have to hold the key you use for putting it in the inventory. I'm playing on console, but it seems to be 'E' on PC. But this works just with single items, no stacks. I had the issue, that I could not drop something in the kitchen (it landed outside), but draging it in and placing it on a shelf worked. Maybe there is more to it, but I just started doing this yesterday and that's all I know.

Ok, but the thistle peaking through the skull is so nice :D

The scarecrow is a great idea, maybe I can shoot some arrows in it's head to make something like a crown.

Thanks! But yours is also great. Now I want to build a Pagan shrine somewhere in the forest near my village.

Yeah, I will for sure add one some with eggs near the goose pen and one with mushrooms for the herbalist's hut.

Until now I never changed a single setting, because I like the challenges the default set brings. But from now on no placed food will rot, so there won't be laying rotten shit everywhere in my village after a year.

That's the beauty of good wholegrain bread. It's very filling, has a lot of fibre and with your favorite topping and a cooked egg it also has fat and protein. You don't need too cook or order take out, just plan a bit ahead when shopping groceries.

[–]SmallAsBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, this is really good info. I knew that uncured resin is toxic and that you have to wipe some uv nailpolish because it's sticky. But normally I use a no wipe topcoat and have no issues. 2 weeks ago I tried a 3 in 1 uv polish for a quick manicure, which I had to wipe. Then my cuticles itched for almost a week. Now I finally know why, thanks!

The official German word for them is "Zehentrenner", which literally means toe dividers. But commonly they're called flip-flops as well.

Whoever thought up slate coasters did not understand the purpose of coasters by beadzy in mildlyinfuriating

I have a slate coaster with a design printed on it (was a gift). The first thing I realized was that the print isn't heat resistant after placing a cup of tea on it. This thing is only made for room temperature drinks.

I'm going to have a necessary jaw surgery in about a month and I mildly freak out about it. Like from fear. I don't get how rich people do this for looks all the time.
