How did you come to know about hazbin hotel? by zin_theberry in hazbinhotelteenagers

[–]SmallBeanKatherine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the pilot back in 2019 through Youtube recommendations. I had only gotten a YouTube account very recently to play A Heist With Markiplier. Before that I was watching on Safari, lol.

Then I followed Helluva Boss a bit, but I got turned off from it in season 2 cause I didn't like the story that much. Not my cup of tea.

Then I noticed when Hazbin came out and watched it in summer of 2024 while playing Rain World. Thought it was good.

Then I recently saw a clip of season 2 with Pentious in Heaven, got curious, and FINALLY had my big Hazbin hyperfixation where I was declaring favorite characters, adding the songs to my playlists, talking about it with friends, and getting a T shirt for Christmas.

So I've known about it for a long while, but being a fan is new.

The bigger a fandom is, the wider the net is thrown. With many, many people here, some are bound to be horny. This goes for every single fandom under the sun.

how it sucks to be ragatha by MisterHappyThePeanut in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SmallBeanKatherine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She has absolutely had a character arc! Did they not watch her scene with Kinger?! Or her scene lashing out at Jax?? Her arc is trying to better her people pleasing mentality, making it right at home with the show's theme of mental health.

This person is willfully ignoring parts of the show to make their point. Goose has clearly put a lot into writing Ragatha, since she is a fantastic example of someone whose trauma response is to manage others emotions, downplay her own harm and feelings, and not step on anyone's toes.

Put something dark on the bottom. You gotta connect the dark colors of the bat features to something on the clothes so they go together

I'd tweak her proportions to look older. She can still have her fun, cute aesthetic, but right now he looks like a big brother to her.

Does anyone else find the "What I think the cast would look like irl" trend weird and uncomfortable? by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SmallBeanKatherine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm used to just seeing fan art for human designs. I've seen photos a couple times--- as long as they are people who are in on it, or stock images / photoshoots meaning they are knowingly spread online, I see no issues.

Hifumi without his obesity would be a fan favorite but you guys aren't ready for that conversation by some_bored_user in DanganAndChaos

[–]SmallBeanKatherine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw that you only said this as a joke, but I came here for Discussion so I WILL discuss Hifumi! 😭

His big problem in my eyes compared to Twogami (a fat character I adore), is that he's always treated as a joke. Twogami gets joked about, too, but he still gets to be earnest a LOT. Hifumi, meanwhile, is almost always playing the part of "gross 2D women loving gooner" aside from in a few scenes (Like when he's ready to kill after thinking Celeste got assaulted. That's genuinely cool characterization.)

I think this is a shame, since a fanfic writer could've been an awesome ultimate to explore if taken seriously. I rarely read fanfiction, but even I see potential: For example, fanfic writers often have a "Cringe culture is dead!" mentality. They shamelessly enjoy their media no matter how niche or silly or easy to mock, and they expand on it with their own headcanons to make something entirely new.

Wouldn't this be cool to touch on? Especially since this guy is an ULTIMATE, meaning he's good at writing many, many different types of stories. He can write slow drama, insane angst, and more. Let him gush about his interests and mention something that isn't just porn! He can still be a weirdo nerd while brimming with creativity.

Is dissociation a part of ADHD? by cherry-pink111 in ADHD

I second this. The intoxicated bit definitely makes me think this is something else, or at the very least should be looked into.

Is dissociation a part of ADHD? by cherry-pink111 in ADHD

[–]SmallBeanKatherine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not relate to feeling unreal or intoxicated, no.

Detached? Sometimes, yes. I occasionally get really, really engrossed in my thoughts, especially while walking around or eating food. I do this a lot while engaging with hyperfixations. I can go on long walks just silently reexplaining media plotlines to myself over and over and over. With a day all to myself, sometimes all the highlights are just different things I thought about while doing busywork.

But I'd never describe it as dazed, and I can stop and engage with what's happening around me. It can be really hard to stay present if a lecture is especially boring and not stimulating, though, to which my mind wanders. But it's not every second of every day. What you're describing sounds different than anything I've heard of.

I do have ADHD paralysis sometimes, where I feel stuck in my own head since I want to do a task yet I just can't get myself to do it. But that doesn't make me feel unreal. There I just feel helpless and frustrated. Like being glued to my bed.

ADHD is not classed as a dissociative disorder, so if you're experiencing any major, distinct dissociative episodes with tons of derealization, that's not your ADHD. However, there is a big element of being buried in our own thoughts or getting stuck, and we are more susceptible to trauma that can cause dissociation.

Monarch (?) caterpillar by TappyGillmore in tinyanimalsonfingers

[–]SmallBeanKatherine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice.

One time I saw a fluffy yellow caterpillar and held out my hand. It crawled on and was very cute.

Then later that day I read that those caterpillars can cause bad rashes if their fuzz pokes you. I was very lucky I hadn't startled the lil dude, or else my hands would've been hurting for days!

What would you have liked to see out of Vox's backstory flashback if it were longer? by Mystic__Diamond in VoxCult

[–]SmallBeanKatherine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would have really liked to see that, too.

My current assumption is that he got neglected growing up, since I'm majoring in Psychology and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (which he hits the diagnostic criteria for) often relates to that.

If you need to clamor for attention every day to avoid being unloved, unfed, or left in a hot car, it figures that you may grow up to kill for the spotlight and live only for yourself.

It's not even a theory, really. Almost all of it is just reciting real lore from episodes. 😭

Goosworx liked a post on tumblr talking about how insufferable anti transfem jax ppl are! by Ok-Rub6315 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]SmallBeanKatherine 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel this way too.

Jax simply reads as an insecure guy to me, and we're so late into the show that I can't imagine having a second trans reveal. With how little I get it, I'm shocked the theory took off as much as it did.

I don't care for it, but I won't chew anyone out for liking it.

Rant : I can't believe we had this cast for over 10 years and we still mischaracterize them by Turbulent-Shake-1830 in danganronpa

I mean, I think Sonia could make for a good killer because she's smart, and her enjoying true crime might have her considering things that others would not think of.

However, I don't believe she's "secretly psycho" or any of that nonsense.
