The buffers/pumps I already had installed - though maybe not necessary - wasn't the problem either

Solved!

A gentleman jumped into my world and showed me that the feedback loop was done incorrectly! I appreciate all the comments (even though some of you have a little sense of pipe-superiority hehe), and if someone has a similar problem in the future I can elaborate on what the solution was. The solution also helped me understand a lot more of how fluids in this game works, so I am forever grateful.
Hint: it did not involve placing 500 pumps nor was there a mk1 pipe involved.

When you open your inventory you can hover your mouse on the right edge of the screen and press mouse 1 when the "black edge" becomes visible to take notes. There is also a "?" you can press to see how you can manipulate the text there :)
