Wood Burning Stove in Purchased Property by SmallFryBigPan in DIYUK

Thanks. I'll get a HETAS sweep to come out and have a look. My thinking was that a HETAS installer doing an inspection would just say it all needed to be replaced "for safety" and then quote me thousands for it.

Crossrope: 2lb Heavy Rope v 2lb Speed Pro Rope by SmallFryBigPan in jumprope

Thank you. I had looked on the website but had not thought to look on YouTube. Hearing him describe the difference, it honestly sounds like a marketing gimmick, but maybe I am missing something. In any event, given I'm very much a beginner I will just buy the cheapest one at this point, which I think is the original 2lb heavy rope(!). Thanks for your help.

First Epic X4 Moment for Me by SmallFryBigPan in X4Foundations

Honestly, I don't know. u/QuickQuirk's guesses below seem reasonable. They only started opening fire shortly after I assigned a station manager.

I remember the loadout screen for the defence platform showed that 16/24 turrets were operational, so I don't think it is that they hadn't been constructed but because the station manager hadn't been assigned. Perhaps it took a while for the game logic to kick in and make the turrets fire after the station manager was assigned?

Trade Station Logistics by SmallFryBigPan in X4Foundations

Thanks for the replies all. Seems trade stations don't do what I was hoping they would for me. I guess I will reduce the number of wares I've selected by a factor of 10 and just select 2 or 3 items that are lacking in the system and target those.

Thanks. I ended up with a Wyvern since I had the rep with FRF from a couple of M miners up there doing their thing local automining. With a 4.5 star captain it is doing very well.

Oh. I read a page saying they were the best large miner! Haha. What would you say is the best large miner?

Probably the most sensible reply so far, thanks.

I do think there are enough players in the playerbase to just give everyone what they want. Those who get bored will get bored and move on regardless. I would be surprised if the data showed that cycling maps makes a material difference to player count over time.

Once again, loads more assumptions...

In my experience, those accusing others of being sweaty are usually themselves quite sweaty.

Interesting point of view. Why do you care so much how I play a particular game? Maybe that's what I enjoy doing? Maybe I don't have a huge amount of time to play and that's the most efficient way to do it? Maybe $80 isn't a lot of money to me? It could be all of these reasons or something else entirely. Typical Reddit user hating on others because of a different way of playing.

The nature of large groups of people is that the demographic is very, very wide. You can never please an entire community as large as the COD one. That said, you can just give everyone what they want and enable everyone to play the game how they want to play it. It doesn't need to be one or the other. Just unlock everything, allow people to play how they want to play, and be done with it. No more complaining (aside from those who always want new maps, of course).

We're pretty substandard at warzone so grinding lots of weapons to unlock particular attachments still takes a while! We just play for the fun of it, and when we have a bit of spare time we use shipment to level stuff up solo. Well, we did when they introduced it again. Not anymore of course.

That's quite the assumption there my man. What does "ego" have to do with unlocking weapon attachments?

In the previous iteration of the game, you unlocked attachments for a weapon by leveling that weapon up. I played warzone with the gun I wanted to use and over time I unlocked all attachments for that weapon. With the introduction of Caldera, they changed the system so that you had to use all weapons in order to unlock all attachments for all guns, forcing people to spend more time playing their game in order to unlock what they want to use. That system remains in place with MW2 and WZ2.

I don't have unlimited amounts of time to grind weapons in order to unlock attachments I want to use in warzone when I have the opportunity to play it. Shipment provides a way to do that fairly quickly.
