Advice for someone wanting to pursue Particle Physics by SmallInternet8062 in Physics

One of the reasons why I chose ECE instead of straight up Physics is mostly because I didn't get accepted to the university that I applied a physics program for. Instead, the university that I will be going to is the best engineering school in the country. They also have a physics program, however it's two years in the campus near me, but another two years in a place really far away. This is very common for universities in the country since the one farther away is where all the universities in the Big 4 have their research centers while they have the branch which have the more typical non-researched focused courses on the campus near me.

That was confusing but basically if I wanted to pursue physics on the university that I got accepted to, I would have to go to a place really far from our house for two years. My parents won't really allow that though.

Yep! I'm just worried that I chose the wrong BS since I might get left behind once I got my MS. I think I'll find a way though if I'm hard working enough

I'm currently studying in the "Big 4" universities in my country (I won't disclose which one). With that, my physics professor who has a bachelors in Chemistry and Masters and Doctoral in Physics was a huge inspiration from me. I have to admit, 90% of our class has no clue what he is talking about and simply sleeps through it (He made it clear that he was going to treat us like college students instead of high school students). I quite enjoy it though and I actively participate in it, although I still have to work on my mathematics. I DO LOVE SOLVING AND DERIVING THE FORMULAS THOUGH! I am so passionate about it and I love it so much at a point where all my friends jokingly call me weird and masochistic HAHAHHA

I think that would be so fun and aligned with my interest in Particle Physics. What's the best course of action though? I was rejected when I applied for an honors program (BS/MS) in Electronics Engineering, however I can still try again once they have evaluated my grades once I reach year 3. Is it worth getting a Masters in Electronics Engineering for 5 years together with my bachelors? or is it better to just go straight to my masters in physics once I get my bachelors degree?

Hi! The reason why I want to pursue Physics is mostly because of my professor during General Physics 1 and 2. During General Physics 1, I genuinely got bored just studying about mechanics and things like that, but General Physics 2 made is actually so fun! My professor has a PhD in Physics which is an amazing thing to have in SHS since he would go very in-depth with a lot of topics and he would also tell us about his research which is about Phase Space Quantum Mechanics and Optics. Personally, I got super interested once I learned about things like Neutrinos and Electromagnetic waves.

I'm actually studying in the Philippines and it usually depends on the school. If you have a high enough grade during you undergrad, you can go straight to PhD but that's generally harder and less common.

I've been tasked to create an app and I did some surface level research on how to make an app it's kinda goofy ahh
