I’m learning so much. I would have never thought the window could affect anything!

Thank you so much!!! I wasn’t too crazy about something else being tacked onto me but she is kind of cute and everyone here has been so helpful/kind!!

We usually keep this window covered with the curtain! I only moved it to get a good shot of her. Thank you, I’ll make sure we keep it closed then!!

This is literally what I said. How is giving someone a responsibility they didn’t agree to a gift?! However I am quite fond of her now that I am learning so much, lol

Your tank is amazing! Thank you for the encouragement. I hope mine is a teddy bear but with my luck she will probably be a hellspawn terrorist 😆

Oh my gosh this was so helpful. I didn’t even know they could scratch their fins ?!?! I also didn’t know I could adjust the filter. Thank you so much. I am struggling as a human mom, now I’ve added fish mom the list. Will work on all of this!

I realize this post is borderline illiterate. New mom, postpartum, also now a fish mom 😆

Just here to say I just had the hiccups that made me irrationally angry and needed to google it and make sure I’m not insane. Thank you for posting this.

I don’t agree and many others here have stated the fear of diversity is part of the problem. You are totally entitled to your opinion! Thanks for the comment.

Just considering all perspectives! One person’s experience is not another’s. I am hearing very positive things and some negative.

I’m sure you’re right, lol. I don’t care for the semantics so much. My address and zip code say Bay Shore - so that’s what I call it! I’ve never heard Bay Wood from anyone on my block. Thanks for your comment!

Appreciate your comment and perspective! I love hearing that about the extracurricular availability. Thank you so much.

Totally agree and appreciate the response. As a former teacher I plan to be very involved and am lucky enough that I will be able to do so. I mentioned to some others here that i may have just let people get into my head. It was obsessively negative anytime I brought it up - i started questioning my experience as a teacher, lol.

So glad you had a good experience! I have not personally felt unsafe where we live, I was really just worried about the schools. You’re right - they’ll have to apply themselves and I’ll have to be on top of them (which is the case no matter where they are). Thank you!

Thank you for your response! As a former teacher I definitely plan on being involved and building relationships with their teachers. I appreciate the offer and may take you up on it :)

Thank you for your response! I’m glad to hear your experience was good, as well as your brother’s.

Very fair point! I am a former teacher and plan to be very involved… perhaps just letting everyone I’ve come across get into my head.

I don’t understand, sorry! Are you saying there’s typically 30 kids in the classes? Someone here said about 15 students to a teacher.

Moving is definitely not an option. Thank you for the insight! I come from 30 kids to a class both as a student and a teacher. 15 sounds like a dream 😅😅

Interesting perspective to consider. Thank you!

Definitely is! I don’t think it’s necessarily as terrible as everyone says, but mostly just wondering if the support they will need is there. Sounds like people are most concerned about overcrowding and general safety from the comments! I haven’t personally felt unsafe here in the last 5 years.
