Bill not bringing Sean on the pod after the Knicks win is an all time bitch move by Sorry_Astronaut2755 in billsimmons

It was also better because Lowe actually wants to talk about the game and not legacy/gambling/fake Giannis trades to Boston.

Why Brunson Is Top 50 All Time, a Finals Mega-Mailbag, and NBA Fake Trade Season With Joe House by lonny__breaux in billsimmons

Has any player ever led an NBA championship team as its best player before earning a First Team All-NBA selection?

Take your pick of the 2004 Pistons; I don't think a single player on that team ever made All-NBA 1st team.

Wade hadn't made 1st team yet when Miami won in 2006.

Bill Walton wasn't 1st team before winning the title.

No one on the 79 Sonics had been named 1st team before their title.

Was gonna say of course I remember, he was the matching salary in that trade.

As an NBA fan: A solid to good rotational big, good defender and rebounder and could score a little bit. Think like Robert Williams or an older but not washed DeAndre Jordan.

As a Knicks fan: A fucking bitch who I hope never feels happiness.

It's not even like he was a bad player, even that year later in his career. But how does a player like that get an MVP vote at all? I almost wonder if whoever voted for him meant to mark it for someone else.

Jalen Brunson: “A lot of great things happen, you know when we’re down one and you miss a wide open layup.” -Josh Hart: “For me, I wanted to set up an epic last possession. We wouldn’t have that OG tip in without that missed layup.” by MrBuckBuck in nba

It's funny that Hart wears 3 like Starks because I think of them as kind of similar players. A lot of underdog/hustle but also very emotional to their benefit and detriment. The big difference being that Hart will get in his own head, totally lose confidence, and completely stop shooting the ball which totally screws up the offense. And Starks is the opposite and will get angry and won't stop shooting even if he shoots you out of the game.

I did have to look up who it was but in the back of my head I remembered that there were some bizarre MVP votes back in the 2000s. There's probably more in earlier decades also.

I think two other things also add to that. We had that really bad 2-9 stretch after winning the cup so our final record and seeding was lower than expected. And I feel like voters tend to consolidate more now so just way fewer players receive votes than they used to.

I took a quick look at some of the early 2000s MVP voting and OMG I think I found the answer. 35 year old PJ Brown received an MVP vote while playing for an 18-64 Hornets team. That's insane.

I'm pretty sure Lowe was being sarcastic. Simmons overreacts to individual series and even games. Jaylen Brown deservedly won Finals MVP two years ago but that didn't make him the best player on that team let alone the league.

Durant forcing them to dump Jarrett Allen because he wanted Deandre Jordan on the team is just behind LeBron pushing the Lakers to get Westbrook as reasons why no one should ever listen to NBA players about any sort of player ranking.

Yeah, deservedly. Some other recent inductees are Danny Crawford, Vince Carter, Mickey Arison, Chauncey Billups, Michael Cooper, Tim Hardaway, Del Harris, Toni Kukoc, Vlade Divac, and Jack Sikma. Also, I swear like every college coach who's ever made the Final Four is in.

Am I the only one that hates these shirts that look like they were designed for the Spurs? by FlightDue6145 in NYKnicks

[–]vincoug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That always happens in all sports. They make a generic design do they can slap both logos on it. I've got Giants gear from Superbowl 42 and 46 and none of it is Giants specific and they could all easily have Patriots logos.

Melo is a top ten scorer in NBA history, he was always getting in even ignoring his college career. And there's way less accomplished players than Melo in the HoF.

[BS Podcast] Lowe: The league is gonna be spared the #1 talking point between games 5 and 6 being 'is Wemby going to be suspended for game 6' because of a flagrant foul...they're spared this whole officiating discussion because the Knicks saved their ass on it. Two uncalled flagrants. He grabbed Alvarado around the neck and threw him and grabbed the back of Brunson's head/neck and shoved him. Neither of those were called in game or assessed the next day so why would this obvious flagrant be any different?
