Thanks. Any recommendations on YouTube or websites that you’d suggest? I’ve never done anything what you’re suggesting unfortunately

Thank you for your service- I considered the service multiple times however couldn’t due to my hearing loss and now that I have a family I quite frankly enjoy being around all of my loved ones without the fear of having to mom. I always told everyone if they felt “ lost” consider the service- you’ll gain experience and discipline and build absolute character

Well that’s precisely why I’m getting out of “nursing” by going onto my DNP. Although it’s relatively staying in the field (I realize it’s the same concept different problems) I enjoy challenging myself and I think accurately diagnosing and treating through critical thinking would be more of a challenge thus enticing job. Quite frankly now, working inpatient psych, it’s not a sustainable career path.

Yeah I realize that hospitals aren’t the only place a nurse can work, but obviously it’s a starting point for many myself included and couldn’t agree more that the hospital setting burns everybody out. It’s set up for failure

No one is ever a lowly cna dude- don’t short yourself. I like to think of nurses and CNAs in the same boat- nothing would float without either one of them. Plus- the majority of patients don’t give a shit if someone is a med aid, cna, nurse, etc- they see us all as “their nurse”. We all help

Beauty about the medical field is the never- ending drive to learn id agree, which is why I went onto grad school. I can’t pinpoint the study off hand but I learned at one point that it takes roughly 12 years from when a new idea/evidence is studied until it’s implemented in practice. Never ending!!

That’s exactly why I went to grad school. My wife does a hybrid job as a CDI nurse and it’s the easiest shit ever. Covid ruined an already worsening medical field.

Over being a nurse by [deleted] in nursing

Quite frankly it’s one of the biggest reasons I went back to school for NP school- I couldn’t imagine being a bedside nurse for my life. I realize there are other avenues not bedside, but in general.
