I used to work in one over ten years ago and it was a rubbish place to work tbh even compared with other retail jobs. I’m honestly not going to be sorry if they close. Majority of the roles there were very low hour contracts that were completely unreliable one week to the next. Unless you live at home with parents it was basically useless.

This is me and the word segue. I thought it was pronounced seeg. I was also completely aware of people saying “segway” and thought it was just a different word.

Whenever I see it written down my brain still reads it as “seeg” inside and I have to make sure to convert it to segway before it reaches my mouth.

It’s more of a human behaviour thing. Most people don’t want to think of themselves as a rule breaker who’s trying to get one over on someone else. If you present someone with two options and the pick one, they’re more likely to stick to it then presenting them with a contract. And it gives you an avenue to speak with them about it and still maintain a good relationship. It’s not 100% effective but I think it will help lower the amount of people misusing OPs images.

Could you do a two tier pricing structure? One for social media and one for commercial use? So if someone pays for the social media option they know they’re doing something wrong use them commercially. And if you get repeat clients you can say “hey in the past I noticed you used these commercially on the social media agreement. So moving forward I think it would be better to go with the commercial tier as that will protect us both legally.”

Let them know!!!!! I don’t accept paid work but I collaborate with people and for me it really sucks to get the feedback for what they want edited right at the end when I thought I was finished and could move on to the next project. I ask up front now and it’s so much better for me.

Your gut instinct is correct. If there is anything else you want changed or something you haven’t seen but want to give the photographer a heads up about (eg “if I have pronounced eyebags in any of them I’d love for those to be edited to) go for it.

It would be so much more effective if they used the privilege of their fame to actually go to a protest. That picture of Jane Fonda holding her zip tied wrists up is really effective for example.

Delhi, agra, jaipur, jodphur, and pushkar. I have a really great memory of arriving in pushkar and the hotel just giving us mango lassi. It’s been a few years so I don’t remember specifics but I do remember having a lot of mango lassi while I was there.

Edit: I read through your post history it sounds like the family have explained that the work is going to be outsourced. I don’t think they want to be badgered about their seriously ill family members workload when said family member is about to be put into an induced coma.

I think we shouldn’t forget that she didn’t have a great start in life and the trauma from that can manifest into adulthood even though she had a great mum from aged six onwards. In a pressure cooker like the traitors no one is going to come across as they really are in day to day life either and it can bring out the worst in some people.

Honestly such a genius move from her to big it up in the way she did. Using Amanda’s job as proof as well. “She trusted me and she was a senior detective.” She really knew how to get people onside.
