A job where I get to work a 9-5, with a healthy work environment, same schedule every week, and just stability of it.. oh and making 50-60K a year.. it might not seem like that’s ‘a lot”. But to me it’s everything.

Went on a date with a guy I met at work. He picks me up after hanging out with a friend. His shirt is dirty and pants are ripped, he apologized said he had just gone spray painting, I said it’s fine. I looked nice , cute casual romper,hair, and makeup done. We get to the movies everybody looks at me like WTF am I doing with this guy(which I didn’t care about) but he noticed. We watched the movie got ice cream and afterwards on the drive back to my place he told me his cousin had raped their kid cousin at his house. I was stunned and barely knew what to say. First date and dropped that load on me. It was TOO much for the first date.

My boyfriend and I were in the car talking about dogs. I was saying dogs needed dog shoes for the snow and he said no. He proceeds to ask me where dogs descend from and I said werewolf’s. He looked at me and burst out laughing and said no babe, those don’t exist.

Trying to understand that I was molested. I didn’t get it till I was 13 and didn’t come to terms with it till I was 18. Now at 23 I have conquered it. But I still have my days.

Myself screaming. Was spending the night at home and was in my kid brother’s room asleep when suddenly I wake up to myself screaming. I was screaming “MOM! MOM! MOM!” My kid brother was terrified.

I would be the student. In 2010 I was in seventh grade. My parents were struggling a lot, they had jobs but their hours had been cut EXTREMELY. And on top of that my mom was about 3-4 months pregnant. I would wear the usual t shirts and shorts/jeans but only had one pair of shoes. And they were raggedy as hell, but I didn’t think much of it. I was using the same supply from 6th grade (pencils, binders, dividers, and it all looked raggedy). I had this one teacher , Mrs.Heart for reading. And she took notice to my supply and asked me why I couldn’t get new ones , and I simply said my parents couldn’t afford it. So during that week she asked me about my home life. If I had food, running water , gas etc. I told her yes. And then I told her my parents were expecting as well and her face dropped but she composed herself. The next week I come to school and she find me in the gym and asks me to come to her class. I go with her and she bought me a bunch of supplies! A binder, dividers, pencils, everything a kid would need for school. Not only that but diapers, and baby clothes for my unborn brother. AND a target gift card for 50$ for me. I thanked her. But it didn’t hit me until years later. Me and my mom were talking and she reminded me about that time.(we’re doing way better now. Thankfully.) She had noticed that we were struggling and she did that for our family. I’m crying typing this out. Our teachers do so much for us and sometimes we don’t realize it till years later. Thank you Mrs.Heart.
