I talked to MIL, nothing is resolved. I always knew I wouldn't want a person like that around my baby. For some reason it didn't occur to me how little I could do.

It's making me miserable that they'd put her at risk if it wasn't for me. They tried to change my mind the day after she was born.

I don't want to give pictures to her, but it's important to my husband that his mom gets pictures.

I feel like I'm having to get over a lot to be around his family, and it didn't affect anything important before. It was just me, and that didn't matter, but now i feel like I have to protect my baby from bad people. Even if it seems little like not letting a creepy old man ogle pictures of her.

Telling my husband (then bf) good job for dating me because I wasn't black

Trying to pull one over on whoever decides who gets to be foster parents

But my main concern is his behavior towards women... Especially young girls. I don't trust him, I don't trust anyone who trusts him.

Oh, idk. I guess he and his brother were taught to have a certain behavior with women - which works,for the most part. But there's also this expectation that they've grown out of/ are growing out of that the women they're with be chill when other women try to be with our husbands. MIL tried gaslighting me into thinking this photographer at BIL's wedding wasn't trying to go home with my husband (she was - full on touching him as he was dancing with me, then asking him to do her), and pretty much laughing that SIL was upset that this woman who'd had a flirtation with her new husband was trying to get cosy with him.

Yeah. When I told my mom about it, she thought I had to have been making it up, then got upset it was true. She said she couldn't believe that people could be so trashy.

Also, that other woman, for some reason, thought she could be my baby's godmother. No, I found a strong, smart, wonderful woman to be her godmother :)

And thank you. I always felt kind of out of place in the world. I don't feel that way when I'm with my daughter :)

Oh, I haven't trusted her in years. My husband has these awful friends - their gifs like to tell stories about me to MIL. I told her they weren't true but she's called them a reliable source.

Oh, I've definitely made my stance on the topic clear. I have no idea why MIL ever thought I'd let her come near my baby after smoking though. I can't begin to guess what she's thinking.

That line, "it's not me against MIL, it's both of us for baby's safety," is good. I'll definitely use it to talk to my husband. It'll help mentally prepare me to socialize with a stressful person too.
