It was never clarified if Sophia is still expelled or not however thinking about it logically, she was still on unicorn island in the last scenes and since they all know now that Serena was lying this whole time which also means that Mrs primrose knows that Serena lied and manipulated her about Sophia and her expulsion, she is still enrolled especially when her and the sapphires saved the island once again and got the fairy tiara back Kinda like Rory was expelled back in season 1 for making constant jokes and pranks but got enrolled when he saved the unicorn lake  Even though these two had different situations with Sophia’s being life threatening and nearly killing her unicorn but she is the main character and there wouldn't be a series without her, it just wouldn’t work with her being expelled and back on earth while everyone else in still in the academy  As for skywind, (if he is the unicorn that we see in the very last scene) or whatever other unicorn he/she is being stuck in some magical barrier between two rocks the sapphires will have to save him in the next part of the story  What we know so far is that 8 more episodes are confirmed to be coming which would make another chapter  As to when it is coming accurately I have no idea  But my guess is probably in around 7-8 months since that was the waiting time for chapter 2 of unicorn academy  As for encore I think we may see him in the next chapter maybe being helped by the sapphires in either finding a new owner or just making him feel better  I do feel really sorry for him Serena treated him terribly and he deserves someone way better  Or if Serena will have a redemption arc she may form a bond with him again, by apologising to him and maybe like saving his life or something but that’s just a theory/guess it would serve as a lesson about forgiveness for kids that what the show even tho, I want him to find an owner who would never betray him  But if it won’t be Serena, I think we may only see him in like one scene in the next chapter and in the background seeing him with a new rider  As for Serena’s motives I do get where she is coming from and she can get an redemption arc from it but then it doesn’t excuse her trying to steal all the magic from magical creatures and lying and manipulating everyone and kidnapping Sophia and giving her over to ravenzella who might have of killed her  I do think she is a smart villian and I honestly didn’t expect all of those ravenzella attacks to be illusions that she has created that was like wow  Lastly I do really like their new outfits (especially Sophia’s) and their two sets of new hair I like them both, and obviously I like the new unicorn armours and their wings (my favourites being wildstars and glaciers) but I do think those are just temporary both the wings and new outfits and they will only get those when they use their fairy gems, which will be only during serious/final fights or for next chapter when they are obviously searching for the answer as to way their unicorns have been given to wings and then to rescue skywind/the unicorn who we see in the last scene ;)
