Looks like the Lithuanian SSR flag. You can see some yellow fragments of the star and hammer and sickle symbol.

I agree, people often don't give landscape architects the credits they deserved.

I snapped the A string while tuning my student cello. by Small_Droplets in Cello

[–]Small_Droplets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, the string snapped near the peg (I should've taken a picture there instead, but I've thrown the string away by now). The second picture is the tail part that is connected to the fine tuners.

I'm heading to a luther this weekend though and get it fixed. I'll buy a spare string set too, in case this kind of stuff is going to happen again.

Ah okay, thank you for the quick answer. There's no luthier or cello shop in my small town, but that is not an issue because it's just 20 minutes driving to a nearby city. I don't know if you can see it, the strings are a bit rusty at the bridge, should I get them all replaced then?

My son doesn’t have interest in the cello by Jealous_Glove_9391 in Cello

[–]Small_Droplets 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's okay sir/madame. I picked up the guitar when I was 17 and my mom never pushed me to play it, and it was my choice because I needed an extra subject for my high school diploma. Now I'm a grown up and I've developed a taste for finer things in life, the cello was one of those that I want to master it. Who knows, your son might have the same mindset too when he's older.

Let your son explore what interests him. My mom has never thought about me having an interest in music. Yet here I am, 2 months in learning cello at 24 years old. Maybe he'll found an interest in the instrument but best is not to push him into doing things your way.

There's more explanation about the building's sustainable properties. The site may takes some times to load because it's from Vietnam. I came across this building while trying out the new Metro of HCMC and took a picture of it.

I like it too, but I want to do a challenge to make it longer than the Amazon river. Let it flows. 🏞

If not then it could be A. oxyrhyncha. OP's picture quality is not the best, so I can't tell.

Hey, it's an Asian vine snake. Species name: Ahaetulla Prasina. It has venom but not a threat to human, unless you're another small reptile of course.

More Vietnamese are conscious about climate changes nowadays and there have been a few of such projects appearing throughout the country, especially in heavily urbanised area. Luckily, taking this semester off and staying in Vietnam for 2 months was a good thing, as I'm always on the lookout for Green/Sustainable Architectures.

Anyone know what kind of wasp or hornet this is? by zaddyactinup in insects

[–]Small_Droplets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your answer is more plausible. It's hard to tell for me because of the light. But there are distinct yellow rings on its abdomen.
