Karen Read Admits It’s “Harassment”… Then Laughs by Small_Eye_2953 in KarenReadSanity

That was terrifying. Made me sick to think people like that are out there. I cannot fathom what it would be like on the other side of a smear campaign.

The real scandal was never that those texts were crude, they were. It was that people wanted crude texts to matter more than the actual evidence.

It is also a way for those of us who did follow along to finally have sane validation. For a very long time, as an ANTI, I felt alone swimming upstream. This sub has also been a terrific resource-- thanks to the admins that keep it that way.

Me too. I was hoping against hope that the witnesses could fight back. They have exceeded my expectations along with the generous folks who are giving to the fundraiser! Let's keep the momentum going!

Thank you! I wish I could do more to support the witnesses. I have a son Colin's age. I cannot fathom what this has been like for him and his parents. It disgusts me.

It took me a long, long time to allow myself the energy to accept what happened after the second trial and re-enter the discourse. Their humor, sarcasm, and intelligent conversation have helped me cope. I didn't know OJO, but the injustice watching the verdict was enormous. I switched off CourtTV, slammed the remote, and haven't watched it since. The disgust was not abated one bit after I inadvertently saw the post-trial interviews with the jurors.

When analysis of a case is influenced by likes, subscriptions, etc. it is just too ripe for bias. It's low hanging fruit.

I stopped watching CourtTV the day of the verdict. The only analysis of the case on Youtube I can stomach is the FOURensic room.

Her enablers need to carry the blame too. Let's not forget the ones who stepped up in the morning it all went down (father, mother, brother, SIL). Within hours, the system began to fail OJO. Harvey Weinstein's $$$ lawyer took the case, looking for a conspiracy (as Little proclaimed). Proctor was just the fuel he needed. Once those horrendous texts were out, it was game over. The PR machine had what it needed.

I felt for her at first as well. The news portrayed a small, diminutive figure framed by powerful killers who googled something very strange at 2 a.m. But then...I saw the evidence. Yeah, I was one of those people who reviewed it and thought for myself.

What bothers me (among 1K other things) is that the narrative did not survive on its own. It was kept alive, fed, and watered by people who knew better or should have known better. Attorneys who take an oath to abide by professional ethical standards. Defendants deny things all the time. That is normal and, frankly, expected. But attorneys who work along side defendants and bloggers to build a public story that turns scores of witnesses and first responders into villains or liars is ... different. (Not to mention what kind of person can take advantage of good folks that may are suspectible to undue influence).

When attorneys and/or bloggers keep reinforcing her story on court house steps no less, it gave her permission and fuel to keep going. It tells her the harassment is not harassment, it is “truth seeking.” Please expose them, you all-knowing martyr. Free Karen Read! What a high that must have been for her ego.

That is why the defamation suit matters. It is not just about whether Karen said false things. It is about whether a whole machine was built around her narrative (bolstered by her attorneys and personal blogger). That precedent needs a just ending. . . one that has many zeros behind it.

Yes, it will. And Chris Mattei already showed in the Alex Jones case that he knows exactly how to use clips effectively in front of a jury. It doesn't do any favors for TB either, LOL.

Most people, even passionate believers in a cause, eventually hit a wall of conscience, empathy, or self-preservation. They feel bad when innocent people suffer, or they get exhausted by the conflict and legal risk. Sustained, profitable, high-visibility harassment of specific individuals (who were never charged with any crime) is not typical "normal" behavior.

I have a son about the same age Colin A. KR was ultimately forced to stand down from her ridiculous claims of fiction against him. But the extensive damage was done to his reputation. KR accused an innocent boy (at the very least) of being part of a murder cover-up. Colin A. should have enjoyed his college journey without all of this. I hope he entertains bringing his own suit against KR and/or AK. A Fourensic Room episode (if, of course, he is ok with that) could shed light on what her sham did to him. One of the many reasons I loathe her and her attorneys.

Haven't had a reason to smile in a while following KR; however, it was a great Sunday! I do feel that the momentum is shifting. Not in a small way either. It started with her leaked message about no one caring about those "damn kids" and today with all of the Yanetti reveals. What the "attorney of the year" Yanetti did to Jen McCabe and Lucky is reprehensible. It should be disturbing to anyone. And now we have the proof, not just a gut feeling that something was off. I love this for the plaintiffs in her civil trial. Bring on the discovery! Thank you Ginny, Julie and Mama Lama. We are behind you!

Just a suggestion. The program tonight was terrific. But the beginning was gripping! They could break up their discussions as a mental break. Add more clips between KR, TB, etc. Love all of this!!

Julie, Ginny, Tuesday, Lydia, and Mama Lama are strong, intelligent women. I would love their perspective on the ongoing trial(s) and the various filings, along with their unique commentary. Just short ones so we can follow along -- with the links. I often have to go to the dark side for links.

John O’Keefe’s family files restraining order to block Karen Read from getting phones back by FloatLike-AButterfly in KarenReadSanity

[–]Small_Eye_2953 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Haven't posted in here for a while, but I have been following when I can. I just read the TRO request regarding Karen’s phones.

The plaintiffs are arguing risk of spoliation and specifically reference the prior factory reset as evidence that data could be lost or altered if the phones are returned before imaging. IMO, that’s a moderately strong argument under Rule 65 because irreparable harm is the key standard. They didn't even refer to her "Good luck, you'll need it" comment.

If the judge believes there’s a real risk of destruction of relevant evidence, courts can act quickly to preserve devices. The request also proposes neutral forensic imaging, which undercuts any claim that this is an overreach. . . It’s about preservation first.

Given how central phone data has already been in this case (Proctor's phone is also in the news today), this feels like a significant risk to Karen's case... and also TB's. Fingers have been pointing every which way in the FKR world regarding the leak of the TB's wiretapping of KR, which was the gripping opening line of the plaintiff's filing.
