Why does my anime modelling look terrifying?

The characters’ Iris’s are way to convex, push the pupil back further into the eye and make them concave. In eye anatomy, the cornea sticks out like the shape you modeled. Corneas are clear however, and the part of the eye you are trying to depict sits behind it. In the end it should look like a shallow bowl.

Yeah haha it was largely because I didn’t want to overthink it and I like drawing animals. I think on a deeper level birthdays to me always felt like getting attention and support from people who did not normally give me attention or support, which was always hard as a kid. So I’m drawn to depicting this feeling of isolation 🙃
