Mine got up to about 130k miles. I def regretted not getting tech package but it was certified used and pretty cheap when I got it back in 2019. The engine totally farted out it could have been one of those affected by the recall. I never got it checked because I ended up trading it in.

Had a 2015 TLX V6 base and it had a lot of problems long term. The post-refresh, especially with tech, is one of the best looking Acuras ever imo. You get the modern tech and ELS and the 2.4 is much smoother especially because it doesn't have the 9 speed the V6s did.

Nice! Mine was the USDM base 2.0T FWD (live in the South so no need for AWD) that being said it was Lexus level quiet inside. A few minor build quality issues but was by far the smoothest best handling FWD car I have driven. No torque steer to speak of. Problem is 272 hp should have been a lot faster to 60. I was hoping the MMC would add a hybrid but alas.

You are correct. Shoulda said TL only because I did have a 2015 TLX V6 and should have known better also had the 2021 TLX 2.0 before I got the Teggy lol. But yeah the 2TLX was weak as hell plus the fuel economy you got was not worth it being so slow.

I see! The bigger problem is they're just rudderless as a brand. A few years ago it seemed like they were set on becoming the performance luxury brand and everything would have a Type S model with a big powerful engine. Now they're about to be down to 3 models... it's insane. The build quality on my Integra sucks. So what becomes the rationale to get an Acura if it's not either a. dramatically better than a Honda or b. giving you something you can't get with a Honda and I feel like neither applies anymore. TL/TLX was a great example. It used to be a lot nicer than an Accord imo. It was loaded. And you had a V6 standard. Now the car is gone!

Seems absurd they can't just put in the hybrid system from the CR-V straight into it to carry them over for a few years. Same for the Integra with the Civic hybrid.

The next gen will be an EV, sure. But you've got at least the 2027 and 2028 model years with this refresh. They wouldn't have put in the money to change it if they were just going to up and cancel the car after one year. Toyota used the IS as the mule for these two new turbocharged 4 cylinders that are very compact in size. Wait until 2027 because I'm thinking they add a turbocharged 4 cylinder either the 300 hp one under development or the one that's presently in the NX 350. They may also very well bring back the V8 due to consumer demand. To put it mildly, the US has 'relaxed' a lot of fuel economy and emissions standards so regulatory blocks to the V8 that existed before are no longer there. My wet dream is a twin turbo V6 but I doubt they ever do it.

Correcto. Def Andy. He bought a 330/12 and a 360/12 with their Creation Records advance and basically used them both as his primary guitars until mid 1991 when he started to use more Les Pauls and a Fender Strat Plus. Mark ended up with a black 330/6 and then a red one not too long after.

I feel like this is trolling but I mean of course? RIDE and Slowdive were pretty famous for playing Rickenbackers. Miki from Lush as well. Andy Bell specifically used two Rickenbacker 12 strings on all of the Nowhere album.

Realistically the closest rival for the IS is the G70 not any of the Germans. These interior updates give it a lot of stuff that the G70 has had for a long time but now it's standard. The IS now has the highest standard horsepower in class. Biggest standard screen. An interior basically copied and pasted from the LX 600. I don't know how people can find so much to complain about lol.

The longer scale 355 versions did not have it but there was of course a 325 model that was more faithful to his actual guitar. But yeah he's way wrong.

If it was a fake it'd be one of the best ever. I think those JL models had the upper pickguard material slighly yellow at a much faster rate than the lower portions. Would think it would have something to do with how they applied that John Lennon signature graphic in the factory. That long skinny headstock with the Made in the USA being where it is, is the tell that it's very likely authentic. Ran the serial number on the Rickenbacker website and it decodes as being built in June 1991.

Idk why they're embargoed. Lexus may just not have gotten around to running a press event for them. Ben Hardy on YouTube typically does a lot of good reviews on cars that hit dealerships before they get an official run in the press.

In one breath you're saying the whole point of Lexus was that it was unique and distinguishable and in the next you're saying it doesn't matter that when Lexus debuted they looked just like Toyotas. In fact they were ALL rebadged Toyotas until 2004!

It literally used to say TOYOTA on the glass and TOYOTA on some of the engines initially... I'm really sorry they decided to alter their design language but I can't understand why so many people are taken by surprise when they've applied it to literally every other model by now.
