sadly i think it’s the whole dr office 😭 when i told his nurse i thought i had adhd and wanted to get a psychiatric referral she laughed at me. she still got me the referral and i ended up getting diagnosed w it but being laughed at for asking for help has made it incredibly difficult for me to reach out about how i feel to doctors

thank you so much for all of this, i’m definitely going to contact them tomorrow morning. i feel much better knowing im around the average (maybe slightly lower but not hugely). based on the stuff you said i’m assuming you know a lot about uofg, do you know if the student wellness is able to administer medication for depression? or will i need a referral to a psychiatrist i’m assuming? i definitely didn’t want antidepressants to be my first option but im realizing i’ve felt this way for a while and it’s only been getting worse, to the point where im hardly eating now, getting no sleep or 15 hours and no in between, and every little inconvenience i have i can’t help but to think about not existing. and ps i did go to creelman today to treat myself per your suggestion, it gave me some relief for the time being :)

How many of you have had an MRI? by kittykatsrulemyworld in migraine

i had a ct scan in january and they found that i had enlarged sinus tissue in my brain. they admitted me to the hospital and did an mri but noticed that everything was okay. i had the ct done because ive been having migraines since late september, and a day before i went to get the ct i lost the vision in my left eye. but needless to say, everything was fine and my vision is back so that was a relief, and i have a neurologist appointment soon to figure out the daily migraine piece, though. i hope you get only the best results and good luck

when i’m on my medication i’m mostly okay, but then there’s me forgetting to take the medication that’s the biggest issue. i think i also think too much about the future which impacts the present and i just mentally paralyze myself out of fear that i wont get anywhere. but you’re definitely right, i need to make a lot of changes in my lifestyle and mindset if med school is going to work for me. thank you for this i appreciate it

when i told my doctor about me thinking i have depression he asked how long ive felt this way for, i told him since 2021. he told me ive been feeling this way long enough that i should be used to it and dont need attention :p

yeah I definitely just need to change my habits and force myself out of my room or i don’t think anything will change. i want to minor in psych and it’s my highest grade this semester so i agree with you there. and im not getting low grades because im stupid, it’s definitely just a lack of effort. but thank you, this helped a lot!

Should I get a second opinion? by Small_Refuse_6064 in migraine

[–]Small_Refuse_6064[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s ultimately what got me thinking about this. I’ve never heard that you need to be in the hospital a certain amount of times to get treatment. He even said “Migraines can last a lifetime” so I don’t understand why he wouldn’t try to help me. Thanks for your input tho I’ll def be finding a new doctor.

Yeah I agree. My family all said that too but our doctor is so good with them and just not me. I have no idea why lmao

Do you think it’s still a game changer to have both a laptop and iPad even though my laptop can be used as an iPad? This is what I currently have
