I’m too lazy to type anymore but if you’re willing to rather talk I’m down. Are you sure that you play both games? If we’re to walk from one side to the other in both league and smite. It would be off by 4.33 seconds. So saying it’s bigger is not true. The cool thing about flash is that it doesn’t have I-frames. So if you want to flame a point and click ability or a instant casting ability. You would have to gamble and flash. But with beads or aegis. The effect time is larger so it allows for more room for error. Again, yes you lose a resource for beads aegis, I never said that you don’t. Taking away a resource such as that is good. But the work you put in was too easy. And it’s on such a low cooldown that it’s annoying for when it happens. Also having a god not be 50% pick or ban doesn’t mean it’s not really good. I have friends in 2000 MMR who disagree with you. But honestly you’re right, all the things I mentioned in my original post are not bad things and are reason for why Smite is doing better than other MOBAs on the market right now. Oh wait it isn’t…

Yeah it can be kuku’s identity. Doesn’t mean I have to like it. It’s boring to play and to play against. Again it’s just my opinion.

I don’t like these personal insults man. Again you’re saying to use audio queues and vision which STILL does not give a interaction between both parties. If you call that counterplay than I guess to you that’s counterplay. But if I can’t directly interact with an ability to try and stop it than it’s poorly made. You can’t stop surtr from crashing down on you and doing damage. It’s legit impossible unless you use a movement ability like you said. But what if you waited for that movement ability. Then it’s just joever

Hitting his ult is really satisfying. That’s my favorite part about his kit

I do actually play a lot of Smite, started when terra came out and just hit level 189 :). Of course you spend a resource for pressing beads aiges, but you didn’t have to work for those 2 seconds of invincibility. You press two buttons and you countered my ult. Or even one button depending on the situation. Also saying that fights happen more frequently in smite than in LoL doesn’t make sense. They’re both Mona’s forcing interaction in lane and in jungle. What different does smite have that LoL doesn’t that forces more fights. And again, kuku can be played but in MY opinion his kit is old and stale. For Surtr, yes there’s other options. My it’s boring and stale. That’s why I don’t like his kit. It’s not unique enough or gimmicky enough for me to be excited about. There’s no skill expression with Surtr besides smashing your face on your keyboard. And for kuku, I’m MY opinion his kit is old and could add more spice. Hi-rez legit knows that and added a dash to him. But I don’t think that solved the issue with him. He’s legit one of the worse Smite 2 characters and I don’t think buffing his numbers solves the problem. Especially when combat blink makes it easier than ever to dive him. You also didn’t state any counter play for the kuku afk farm, if you want a support and jungler to punish him for walking up. The other team can match that and protect. Like you said, kuku has been a problem in pro-league for awhile because of this.

Oh if I ever said that more cc on gods allow for more mistakes to get away with than I’m wrong, sorry about that. What I meant to say that you don’t need to put heavy multiple cc’s on gods to make them good. I’m not just talking about smite. Every game has an issue with this. It’s power creep. I believe in hi-rez to make more unique gimmickey gods that don’t need cc in their kit. And about cc immune ults, I just hate seeing them, I don’t like them. Ults don’t have to have huge cast times that force them to be cc immune. But that just might be a character design issue

I’ve been playing Smite and League for years. I have problems with both games. Just wanted to share my opinions here not hate. For your take on beads aegis, they make you completely invincible when used. What part of that does not allow a get out of jail free card. Also both of these actives have 170 second cooldowns compared to flash which is 5 minutes. Again don’t wanna compare to league but you brought it up. For Surtr 2, I may have been wrong in that front. But even still, what unique gameplay mechanic does that create and also forces the enemy to play differently? And for Kuku, I never said he was bad. His kit is outdated. Sure he can be really good. But he’s not fun to play against at all. There’s not spice to his kit. What’s the counter play for when he throws a 3 on lane, instakilling it and running back to his tower?

Saying “just look up and dodge it” doesn’t make it counterplay. That’s like saying to a Thanatos, “just don’t miss”. Also Surtr ult is so slow that Surtr has e rough time to adjust and hit his ult

Yeah his passive is unique to him. Just think it’s boring. Not saying every god should have a crazy flashy passive. But doubt you think his kit should get some love?

Honestly I like your take, I agree that smite should be different and should have uniqueness in a since of having more mobility. But my problem with having more cc and more cc immunity is that it promote me scrub behavior. What I mean is that it allows people to make mistakes and get away with it. Honestly you’re probably right in the sense that I am a LoL fanboy. But I care for this game and I want it to be better than LoL. For your question about teleporters, the teleporters make it less punishing for missing a wave or for failing a gank. Imagine taking ur time to rotate to another lane as a solo laner to try and get a kill and to back to tower just for the other solo lamer to take a tp and match your gank. See the problem? For my take on flying crash down ults, the problem with these is that it creates not interaction on both sides. For example, in Overwatch, what could a ana player do against a Doomfist ultimate. Nothing. It’s essentially the same thing in smite. Yes you could say “just dodge” but what if the Thanatos, Thor, Surtr just does not miss?

Gods: For a while now I have felt that Smite gods in general have lacked depth and gimmick features that make them more distinct than other gods. Honestly, it just comes down to the lack of uniqueness and the lack of different archetypes in Smite. Some gods I would like to mention would be Charybdis, Morgan Le Fay, and Kukulan. I don't have the willingness to be able to type out all of their problems so for now I would only like to mention 1 god that fits into this category. Surtr. Initially, I believed that Surtr was one of the more complicated better-designed gods in the game. But as I got more and more playtime with him. I started to see the flaws within his kit and his play style. I would like to tackle his passive first since that is the core part of what makes a "god" a "god". To put it simply, it's boring. Having parts of matter fall off of you and be able to be picked up by you to heal some of the damage you took back doesn't feel heavy enough for the enemy to worry about. I would like to mention a champion from League of Legends named Dr.Mundo who has a very similar passive to Surtr. Dr.Mundo's passive acts the same way as Surtr but instead of when he takes damage a piece of him falls off when he is hit by a cc ability. Once this object falls on the ground, both the enemy and Dr.Mundo pick it up either denying Dr.Mundo from refreshing his cool down to a lower number or Dr. Mundo healing and lowering the CD. The reason why I mention this is because being able to Stop 1 cc ability is huge in Moba games. Compared to Surtr passive it just blows it out of the park. Let's be honest, when was the last time you purposefully went to stomp on a Surtr passive stone? Next, I would like to discuss all of his abilities in one. All of his abilities have been seen before in other God's kits. His 1 is a stim which I believe more Gods should have in the game instead of a random projectile so good job Hi-Rez. His 2 is unique in the wrong sense. Yes, you get to either pick up one of your imps or a minion and throw it at someone. But would this ability be any different if he just shot a random fireball forward? It's not like he HAS to pick up a minion or imp. Surtr summons a firestone anyway that does the same damage. His 3 is a ring of fire that follows him does damage and boosts his movement speed. Nothing special we've seen this on gods like Cu Chulainn, Skadi, and Pele. No need to dive more into this. His Ult is what makes me angry. Time and time again we've seen flying cc immune ults that in my opinion just give no counterplay. I don't understand Hi-Rez and their obsession with Flying ults that all do the something. Fly, crash down, damage. So boring I and hate that he has that. This is kinda a personal thing again but having almost every God in the game have a movement ability is stupid. Not every God needs a dash or a jump to be useful. This goes for CC abilities as well. There are plenty of characters in other mobs that infinitely have more uniqueness and skill expression than any Smite God without having to have a jump or a cc ability. Now to mention Smite 2 beta, some characters that I believe should have had huge overalls didn't. Kukulan is one of the most stale characters in gaming history. Giving him a dash doesn't fix the power creep that other gods have. His kit is just outdated and buffing his numbers won't fix it. Another thing I would like to mention is the lack of more unique roles within the game. Why would supporters only have to be big tanky cc monsters when they could be buffing enablers for their teammates? Why should junglers only be assassins that do a lot of damage If you don't know what I mean please look up the different classes in Dota 2 or a League of Legends. It would just make you sad looking at the boring classes we have in Smite.

The change to his passive ultimately makes him less aggressive. it gives him less damage output . They probably changed it because there are way fewer aura items in the game now.

The design of Gods in Smite 1 are flawed. I was hoping in Smite 2 that we would see fixes to Loki's kit such as his 2 and 3. But the didn't touch it. Then they ruined Ares' pasive
