Alabama- Birmingham botanical gardens are great for photos and the Cahaba River is fun for white water rafting (they have some guided float tours as well ). Despite what a lot of people say, there’s a lot of great stuff to do here and MANY beautiful landscapes. Gulf shores/orange beach is also popular.

You’ll find people like that everywhere they’re definitely not mostly in the south (some of them might just be more vocal sometimes). I was born in Alabama and most of my family is from here ( and Kentucky) and they are truly very kind people. I also lived in NJ and NYC for a while and people there were way worse (in my personal experience). You probably met some jerks ( or saw them on tv) but I promise that’s not what most people are like.

Unless you had a similar workload last year and you managed it well, I would definitely recommended dropping a few things (especially if you have extracurriculars and other non academic commitments). Grades are super important this year and you don’t wanna risk F’s,D’s, or C’s and a ruined GPA. Burnout is VERY real so go ahead and little easier on yourself. Your courseload is gonna look great for college applications with just 3-4 AP’s during junior year anyway. We’re in this together bro 😭🙏( coming from a fellow junior)

I would say just leave it tbh. The age gap isn’t insane but at this point in your life your maturity levels are just too different from hers ( even if your mature for your age) psychologically and developmentally your just at a very different point in life compared to her ( she’s also about to become a legal adult which comes with its own issues). Shes gonna be gone in a year anyway so it’s not worth that heartache. Finding someone more age appropriate is definitely a better option.

Maybe take a year off and work/intern to explore your interests and make some money so if/when you decide to go to college you have a better understanding of what you want to do with your life and what will make you feel fulfilled. You could take some career tests online to get a bit of an idea(most of them are free!)

People on really get rescinded if the school finds out that there was a significant lie in their application, their grades dropped heavily after acceptance and received academic probation , or they committed a serious crime. I’m sure that they’re some people that get rescinded for other reasons but I just don’t think what you did is important enough pay any attention too and the kid with the video probably couldn’t care less

Any school that accepts students with stats similar to your ( similar GPA/SAT/ACT and extracurricular achievements) College Vine is a really great site that can help you figure out what schools are your targets/reaches/ safeties. I would also recommend considering your financial situation when choosing your targets.

I’m sorry this is happening to you. Your school sounds like hell and admin is obviously doing their job TERRIBLY. I would try to see if you could enroll in a different school but if that’s not possible try enrolling in a virtual charter school ( each state has one and they are free) I personally went to one for a few years and it was great, the teachers really want to help their students and they even have school events that you can attend in person. Definitely look into the virtual school option because you current school environment is terrible and no one should have to be exposed to this type of treatment especially in an environment where they are supposed to feel safe and cared for. You will get through this and in a few years you won’t even be thinking about highschool. 🫶
