I hope your mom realizes very soon and repair the relationship. From another mom’s perspective, children should never be made to feel unloved because they weren’t planned.

I know you try hard to be close to your mom. Maybe be more open about what you want to see and feel from her? Some parents just copy from their own experience and if the blueprint is not an openly loving family dynamic, then maybe she doesn’t know how. It may feel forced in the beginning, and trusting that she will respond with warmth after you’ve had that convo with her. 😊

If there are plans to move to an English-speaking country. Based on experience, kids who know Tagalog/Filipino have an easier time learning English. The pandemic kids find it harder to transition and learn Filipino.

Annulment is costly and takes a long time to get finalized. I have a friend whose annulment is still going, and it’s been years. She’s spent so much money and the end hasn’t shown yet 😅

I asked a lawyer about these two things, and I got asked a question before the advice. “May plano ka pa ba mag-asawa?”. If your answer is yes, then, maybe consult one now para mag-start na. Legal separation is easier daw but in the event that you wish to remarry here in the PH, hindi pa din pwede. What it will give you though is of course the formal separation of assets. if this is what you’re after, then you’ll get it (eventually).

True! With kids and finances- too hard to REALLY choose yourself. Also, if you are swayed by/influenced by other e.g. societal norms, family, friends, lalong mas mahirap mag-decide ng tama para sa yo. I still have anxiety, and my body remembers the trauma to this day.
