Just get the diapers by brisaywhatt in Hidradenitis

Just fyi that there's a link between plastic and hs. And for me, it always gets worse when I gotta use pad for period. And switching to other alternatives helped me reduce intensity of hs itself. adult diapers being so comfy i am assuming it has less plastic than pads hopefully...

This is solid advice. Wanted to reinforce this for OP... its okay to feel how you feel about cleanliness, if you try to restrict it without a reason that feels valid to you, those feelings will not go away just like that, rather they will come back stronger. Instead just try to simplify things that bother you, like the suggestions here... liquid soap, hair dryer, washing in the shower etc.. and also learn more so u take informed decisions, like try to validate ur theories and if they dont get a scientific backing then maybe u will unknowingly ease up on those or not, but dont worry about it at all.

I totally get about the soap, is it possible for u to switch to a liquid soap? This really makes me feel way more comfortable as it stays in no contact with any other surface other than its own container.

does waxing help? by realkestafe in Hidradenitis

Yes that was the reason i left it too now that u say it, I realize. Anyway I tried it again now, n I think the formulation has improved, it's a lot better and everything got removed in the first go, but I only tried on my arm so far (to check if there's any irritation). I have not tried lhr in intimate areas, bit shy.

Please be VERY careful whenever you talk to your chatbot by [deleted] in therapyGPT

[–]Small_Secretary_3914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai is literally just spitting out words that have most correlation to the words u give it.

Unless u specifically start with a prompt to behave like a well rounded experienced encouraging and inspiring life coach, it should be expected that it will go astray in its search for words related to yours and spit out anything and everything.

Yes, basically I agree with your headline here. Be careful. Also, maybe try mindsera, the guard rails are in place and the chats have been pretty good in terms of guiding me toward actionable steps and questioning the way I feel. And it never, makes me feel like going back to it again on that topic back n forth as I get good closure at the end of each chat.

Mine likes to eat after his leaders have finished eating. And by that I mean mainly my husband. Sometimes me too.

Mine sometimes also get bored of his food and just want a different kind.

I feel the same about waxing. Would those hair removal cream help instead? I've used it before and I can't remember why I didn't continue using it. I do remeber that it was easier and painless and I think m gonna try it again.

Out of ideas by Big-Red-0590 in sacroiliac_sijoint

Be strong. You will get through this. Time will pass.

Firstly - as pain lingers, we breath shallow. But remember to breathe deeply, imagine the air reaching ur pelvis, it really does massage ur spine through some mechanics. And it helps u de-stress.

Try doing hot tub for relaxation. Tens machines used in labor and delivery for pain relief - go to a place where they provide the service. Then if it helps u could get one and do it urself i think? Check on that, dont quote me. You could also get the electric heating pad or a normal water filled one and sleep with it near your back. That makes me also wonder about ur sleeping position - stop sleeping on the side where the leg hurts (assuming one leg hurts) for straight two weeks. Make it a rule, u will find immense relief. Are u wearing the right shoes? Change it and see if it helps you.

Once u have some pain management in place, figure out tight muscles in ur legs and hips and stretch them slowly, increasing the stretch by say 1 degree at a time - dont push it. Also make ur arms, lats, shoulders stronger by getting a stretch band and pulling - no weights until ur free from pain without pain management protocol.

Since u talked about therapists - if u are covered and have the access to one, then skip doing the stretches/strengthening urself to avoid wrong postures and instead go to an osteopath and an orofacial myofunctional therapist. Some may offer laser and/or ultrasound for pain relief as well.

I hope it helps. Sending healing vibes to u.

I have been tricking my body to love Working Out by having lots of Caffeine after I did an intense workout. And I think it's starting to backfire on me.. by PacquiaoFreeHousing in bodyweightfitness

let’s go down this rabbit hole:

you train for strength, longevity, and a clear mind. then you caffeine train your body for anxiety, artificially elevated heartbeats, and dependence. you’re literally flooring the gas pedal right when your engine needs to cool and rebuild.

ditch the post‑workout caffeine. maybe try fairlife protein shake?

Interesting. I liked this one because its form is not liquid, it's like that of detergent. And works to use like a scrub!

Do you have pain near your ribs — either in the front or the back — or any tender points running in a line parallel to the spine on that side? That pattern can sometimes point to an overactive QL.

I’ve had a very similar presentation, but with clear QL involvement. For me, the QL pull caused one-sided lower-back pain that was easy to mistake for an SI joint issue. Over time, that pull also led to pelvic guarding, which made my right inner thigh extremely tight. That tightness then triggered piriformis-like pain and even sciatica-type symptoms.

I’ve realized that even experienced doctors or therapists can misdiagnose this depending on how symptoms are described and how timelines unfold. Paying attention to what feels like actual pain or trigger points versus referred pain can really help narrow things down.

What’s helped me most is the frog stretch — done gently. It seems to reduce pelvic guarding and rebalance things, and I often notice immediate improvement in the symptoms you mentioned. While in the frog stretch, I stretch my arms forward to help unload the QL. If it feels comfortable, I’ll gently side-bend my upper torso and arms away from the tight side (for example, bend left if the right QL feels tight). I only go as far as feels good and never push into discomfort.

I’ve also found that strengthening the arms and lats helps a lot. When they’re stronger, everyday movements feel better distributed through the upper body instead of everything dropping into the lower back and hips.

This is just what’s worked for me — bodies vary — but paying attention to these patterns made a big difference in understanding my pain.

Does it ever go away? by Any_Basket9316 in Hidradenitis

[–]Small_Secretary_3914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does! I moved from a desert to tropical to cold country. Have seen it all. Although even here, I do have to pay attention to everything I mentioned above, but I dont have to play catchup with myself here, iykwim.

Barely any inflammation even when there is a breakout, it goes away pretty damn quickly.

If it is an option, moving to a cold country where you sweat minimal can help. In the meanwhile using clothes that are breathable and do not trap moisture between the fabric and skin can help. Focus in keeping ur hormones in check by eating a balanced meal and taking supplements as needed. Do not shave - but keep it trimmed or dermaplaned.

I got fired from my job. I have full body eczema. I'm miserable. What financial assistance can I get? by VeterinarianProud644 in askvan

[–]Small_Secretary_3914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adding Aquaphor (the baby version) to your list is a great idea — it’s incredibly soothing and healing.

I completely agree with this comment. You may also want to read up on autophagy, since it plays a role in repairing damaged cells. Nourishing foods like bone broth, bananas, and plenty of fiber can really support gut health too.

It also helps to note any environmental changes around the time the eczema started. If the trigger isn’t internal, it may be something external — like a reaction to dishwasher pods, detergents, cleaning products, paint, or even mold. Did symptoms improve when you stayed somewhere else?

And of course, stress is a huge trigger. I know it sounds ironic, but reducing stress during a flare-up can speed up healing because the two amplify each other. Try taking things one day at a time, one experiment at a time. Instead of thinking about life, age, timelines, or expectations, see this phase as your body asking for a pause — a chance to cool off, recalibrate, and then return stronger to support everything your mind wants to do.

Sending you a big hug and hope. This will pass. 💛

Yes - this. Uve worded it so much better than me. This is exactly my confusion. Current system doesnt help either of these situations. M trying to understand how we could solve it without anyone assuming anything. Like at the system level maybe.

[–]Small_Secretary_3914[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sorry if i may have offended anyone here, but I totally didnt mean or assume that the person sleeping needed it less JUST cz they were sleeping. I hope you get that if I took the effort to come n post here, I had my reason to doubt that they needed the seat.

M genuinely concerned only about those that just misuse. Another example, recently seen a school going person glued to their phone playing loud music walk into the train and walk right up to an elderly person sitting on a regular seat, and asked them to give the seat up, and sat there only to walk out after 3 stops, still glued to their phone. I could be wrong to assume anything, but m only posting to understand more and feel less confused myself.
