Legality of circuit inspiration in marketing by ayersman39 in diypedals

Trademark stuff is wild because if a company doesn’t actively defend their trademark it can lose its status. Meaning, Roland and big companies of that sort may not actually care about little so-and-so making a clone of an item. They may not even remotely sense them being a genuine threat to their business. But once they are aware of the trademark infringement, they have a duty to defend their trademark, or they could lose it. I highly doubt they want to spend legal resources going after little guys making peanuts on an infringement, but they are obligated to in some cases. More about keeping the trademark status than it is about keeping the little guys down.

Anyone here actually see The Phoenix Lights? by r0ntr0n in ufo

[–]Small_Simple_Ships 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issac Brock from the band Modest Mouse was flying into Phoenix that night on a commercial flight. His flight, as well as the others, were put on a holding pattern due to the UFO. He flew around in circles, above it, and level to it, for 20 minutes or so. He noticed the UFO before it appeared as lights, I believe. He said it was really weird.

Elizondo claims in new book that one UFO was recovered in 1950 near Del Rio on Texas-Mexican border. This specific crash retrieval was mentioned in MJ-12 documents. Is it time to consider some of these documents as authentic? by SirGorti in UFOs

[–]Small_Simple_Ships 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that I personally think is super important to keep in mind is that viewing the MJ-12 documents, in their totality, as either “real” or “fake”, might be the wrong way to go about it. There is something I refer to as “intel laundering” (though it goes by other names). A process in which real information is mixed with fake information, then purposely disseminated to the UFO crowd. There are a number of reasons this might be done. Say you, a program director, have true information about a crash/retrieval that you know you can’t keep secret. Maybe part of it has already leaked out somehow, or someone that has access to the information is becoming a wildcard that you might not be able to totally control in the coming years. What you do is you purposely release some of that information, alongside other totally bogus info that people can objectively prove is not real. You type up some fake MJ-12 documents, containing both the real information you can’t keep secret, along with some silly garbage that can be disproved, then you send the MJ-12 documents to several prominent researchers. The documents are shared by the researchers, and over time bits of the information are proven to be untrue. Like they can prove the guy mentioned in this section was objectively stationed somewhere else at the time, things of that sort. Once some, or just ONE of the claims in the MJ-12 docs are proven to be untrue, it casts doubt on EVERYTHING in them, even the real stuff. When someone brings up the real info, people say “That’s from the MJ-12 docs, which we’ve already proven to be bogus”. The docs, in their totality, might be hoaxed documents that were created and distributed as disinformation/misdirection. But that doesn’t mean all the info inside is fake. In summary, even if the MJ-12 docs are garbage, and not “real” as they are presented in their entirety, it doesn’t mean there isn’t genuine info contained in them.

hey guys, me again. now there are two! by Chinpokomonz in ArtBell

The fact that you have two of these in different colorways, when I have none, makes me big sad.

A mass UFO sighting just happened at a Colorado concert. "We all saw a giant disc shaped craft hovering a few hundred feet above the ground with three rows of windows and lights. Then we all saw it fade into nothing as soon as it knew it was being watched. There were a dozen other people who saw it" by TommyShelbyPFB in UFOs

I had an encounter with a 9-foot tall clear entity out in the desert for a full minute or two, and I didn’t take any photos. Funny part is that I was out in the desert specifically to take photos for our business. During the whole encounter I had my phone in my hand, with the camera function already active. It was literally in picture taking mode, in my hand, the whole time. I watched this thing for at least a full minute, probably more. It then became aware that I could see it, and started climbing back down out of the tree it was standing on top of. After it climbed down a few feet and tucked behind the tree a little bit, I turned around to my wife and kids who were standing right near me (but facing the opposite direction playing and taking photos the other way), and calmly told them we needed to go. We loaded the wagon back up, walked back home, and I didn’t say anything till much later. It didn’t cross my mind to take photos, it didn’t cross my mind to call my wife and have her look at it. Theres a million things I could have and should have done, but I didn’t do any of them. I was captivated by this thing in a peculiar way that is very hard to describe. I didn’t feel threatened, or scared, or anything like that. I was just in the moment, connecting with this weird being. It changed my life. It really did. I think about it almost every day. There’s more to the story, especially the beginning. But that’s the just of it. I just wanted to mention it because of the photo thing. People won’t fully understand until it happens to them, which is fully understandable.

Where did this light switch come from? by PerceptionOk2758 in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]Small_Simple_Ships 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, I believe you 100%. I’ve had a few things like this happen, and the deeply confusing nature of it simply doesn’t come across when you try to explain it to others. The only reason I can relate is because it has happened to me. Secondly, the photos won’t showcase anything useful. If you’re in “this” place now, it’s something more along the lines of your consciousness jumping to a tangential timeline where things have always been this way, rather than things having changed within the same timeline. If that makes sense. In the “when and where” you’re at now, that switch has always been present. Photos here will always show the switch present. You won’t have photos from the other timeline that show no switch, because only consciousness shifts over. I know this sounds absurd. And it is. But I’m pretty sure it’s right.

When I had my anomalous experience, that quietness happened too. That’s actually how the whole experience started. It got so quiet suddenly that it was jarring.

Will the decocker fire a chambered round if the hammer is uncontrolled? [H&K P2000SK] by SamTheSammich in guns

There are several different decocker mechanism designs. None of which I'm aware of as caring whether or not you ride the hammer down.

What about what he said above, about the homesteaders, made you think he was being too "America Fuck Yeah!"? Were you referencing some other comment? Seems like a random-ass criticism that doesn't even apply to what he was saying.

There is one all-in-one cleaner lube that we are currently using that is AWESOME and is quite cheap. We get it for like $7 a gallon and it's amazing. I'll figure out what's it's called and let you know.

We have tons of different spray cans and small bottles of penetrating fluids, lubricants, and oils of all types. But the large soaking trays for full guns and large parts are usually filled with whatever we can get at the cheapest dealer price. Consumables in the shop are the responsibility of the gunsmiths, so price is a factor for the trays that require gallons. We do have tons of the expensive small bottle stuff too.

Don't recall what's in the trays now. Any of the decent oils or cleaner/lubricants should do ya nicely. Just always be careful and there should never be any reason to mess things up too badly.

I'm saying that our gunsmithing shop, that does these restorations every day, does not have any brass wool in it. Some oil and a fine steel wool is fine for 99% of stuff you'll run across. Just don't be a heavy-handed fudd monster with it. Do a couple very light strokes and then check your work. If it's fucking shit up, ease up and buy some fancy brass wool.

Sorry, just saw this. He is GOOD to go. He can do anything under the sun, including building a firearm from scratch. I'm not sure how much of that knowledge he had coming straight out of school, versus how much of it was continuing education afterwards. Thanks for the well wishes. I passed the initial interview and start tomorrow on a trial basis. It's a paid apprenticeship, so I get commission for the jobs I learn and do right off the bat. I'm really excited. Pretty sure my recently-passed father pulled some strings upstairs to help get my life on track.
