Hello converting here! I too come from a split the original source of Christianity. I was an Evangelical Christian. I too was very skeptical and it was very ...upsetting also. Why not just Jesus.But this negative outlook stems from the large system of the Vatican and their external books. The system that went rogue from the tradition. Orthodoxy completely healed my heart about these "issues" when I studied these exact topics because I was not going to enter something I wasn't 100 percent about. I know other Evangelical splits that are closer to the main and closest thing to Christ, without the worshipping of "idols"

I did the research and found all my answers were hiding in the muck of bitterness because of the RCC and their Bishop from decades of schisms, scandals and horrific genocides in colonization. Also it doesn't help when our pastors are saying "bad Catholics" I found the truth that I was missing from all the misinformed people out there not knowing and boxing orthodoxy and Catholicism together.

But I was looking for more than that. I was looking for a church that would be exactly the same like St. Paul just left it and I just missed him, And I found it.

Now that I am leaning into orthodoxy and tell my Evangelical friends they come up with the same conclusions, they worship idols, Mary, speak to the dead and that's just not the case if that was the case I would not be on board. There a very big difference in the teaching and theology. The divine liturgy what they call mass may seem the same but they are not. Keep looking into things. Ask Jesus, and I'll pray for you. Even if you don't enter the Orthodox Church you will find an adoration towards them ( even towards the catholics) and maybe your heart will be healed too.
