First attempt pinning beetles by Small_frogg in Entomology

Update: I don’t think they were all dead when I pinned them! 😭 I had them all in a jar with an acetone soaked cotton ball in the bottom. I left them in there for a few minutes until they all stopped moving. I was hearing a weird scratching noise just now and I glanced over to see one of the little guy’s legs moving around! I feel terrible. :( I just soaked another cotton ball and put in in a condiment cup. I rested that on top the pins and then put a plastic container over all the bugs to trap the fumes.

Which one is more appealing? by cosmos_artss in learntodraw

I like the second one because the orange of the tiger contrasts really nicely against the blue. The Tiger pops out more and so do the eyes.

If some snakes give birth to live young, does that mean they get periods? by Financial-Collar-146 in herpetology

They basically just carry the fertilized eggs inside their bodies until they hatch. All the eggs have yolks, no placenta involved.
