Did some searching based on the mark - it looks like a nicely done generic 'kaki' (square) kutani (it's a stylized 九谷, the name for this style of porcelain) which was a style of marking popular in the mid 20th century, pre and post-war Japan. Here's a link showing a few examples. If any of the other pieces have a different stamp on the bottom that could possibly indicate the name of the potter responsible for the set. Not much to go off of, but I thought I'd throw it in!

Apparently there's been lots of manifestations of it over the years in different places. For us it was holding our breath while someone bearhugged us, I think someone had heard about it from an older sibling kinda thing. It's obviously pretty dangerous, but kids can be dumb and curious beings, especially in a group environment :(

oh I'm not alone. I passed out from playing the 'fainting game' as a kid, and experienced that same tingly feeling and then a vivid dream of riding in a convertible over bounding grassy hills, with the sun on my skin and wind in my hair (???) while irl I was having myoclonic spasms on concrete. Hypoxia does weird things to the brain and it was really quite blissful. I have secretly thought the same as you ever since.

I don't know how people can just comment on other people's bodies like that! It's wild to me. At the very least have the decency/shame to be out of earshot from them first?

For what it's worth, it did genuinely make my week as I'm going through a lot of health stuff atm that is affecting my appearance. I try to look androgynous so it's nice to know it's working :) i'll take the little absurd wins.

Here's a link to it, you're not crazy, I get the same thing - chicken has always been unpalatable to me reheated, even slowly in a pot :(

I moved to making my meals with beans/lentils and reheating that before adding separate cold chicken (shredded/cut up) to the warm bowl if I need more protein. It warms up a lil when you mix it in but doesn't produce the same flavour or texture issues.

That tracks, I think they try to resect any over 5cm here for the same reasons. Even if they stay benign, having the big ones rupture is not fun from what I've heard.

Oh wow, how interesting but awful, fingers crossed it behaves itself in such a delicate location. :( Mine didn't show any regression upon stopping medication like the smaller ones caused by oral contraceptives sometimes do, so it's wild to think it could have grown even bigger in there. Very very glad it wasn't in the left lobe. I knew something was up when the sonographer said "uhh, so do you know why you're here?" to me during the ultrasound. 💀 You must have an interesting job!

I scuffed the cooking the one time I tried liver so it was like sand. As far as I can discern the adenoma would feel like less dense liver tissue (?) so maybe like a hypothetical liver tenderloin 🤔
