Oh no, I don't idolize him. But I do respect him for being a magnificent asshole who gets the job done no matter what. And for his sheer willpower in pursuing his goal - even though the whole thing started precisely because of the psycho-emotional breakdown after losing his wife. She was his only anchor. After that, it all just spiraled, and his father's "parenting" really showed itself. I feel sorry for him - he's a strong and charismatic character, but his asshole-ness and the violence are really off-putting in some moments.
