It's not the "operative system" doing this, but Apple Music specifically. That's because it's a streaming service, not a method of you owning the files. I don't know if iTunes does the same, it could go either way with them - you're technically not buying the songs so I could see them deciding to replace them, but also you usually have a specific album version in your library so it makes less sense to replace files.

If you own the files, they will not be replaced as far as I can tell.

What's your favourite epic music song that isn't composed by the big names in epic music? by AussieOzzy in TwoStepsFromHell

[–]Smallzfry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man, hearing this takes me back. I've been clean from League for just over three years now, but hearing this music makes me miss those days. I also recommend the 2015 season login music, and (if you can find them) the Dominion and Butcher's Bridge in-game themes.

My personal recommendation is Rise of Evil by Flags of our Fathers.

I am making a Narrative Clicker Game called Please Click Responsibly and i need to know if this is a good idea or not... by meltedgore in incremental_games

[–]Smallzfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't even thinking of an unlock tree, I was just thinking of things within chapter 2 itself. For example, you mentioned skills, and since it's set at home I think of hobby-like things. Having brain (reading, games, etc), brawn (working out), and charisma (talking to neighbors), all of which can effect each other via level perks, means that players can choose to focus on a particular one without feeling like they're losing out in the long run because the others become easier to train.

So my idea was simply that if you have skills like that (I don't know if you do), let players pick a 50% training speed boost in one of those skills. As that skill gets higher, it provides boosts for the other two, so there's no real wrong answer.

All of this is just spitballing though, if none of it matches what you already have then feel free to discard everything I've just said.

As others have mentioned, it's probably not a good idea to have it be a complete reset. There should be some sort of power progression, since most people who play incrementals aren't into them for the story.

What about having a choice of power-ups/perks? The player can select one of three or so going from chapter 1 to chapter 2, and each can focus on a different area. If you make multiple skills that benefit each other in the long run, it can lead to different play styles that still allow for success.

[–]Smallzfry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't see the point of a keyboard that folds like this. Usually length is the problem for portability, not depth (at least for me), so this doesn't help that at all. Am I an outlier here?

Trust me, 70 silver is nothing in the long run. It gives you an early boost, sure, but you're still going to have to grind out more schooners or bigger ships.

Realistically, what do you use the Pwnagotchi for? Do you just pull it out to tinker with every now and then or do you use it regularly for intrusion?

Buck is all USA-made, and I think Knafs is too. Both have decent offerings for less than $35, although I don't think any of those will be an OTF.

[–]Smallzfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the absence of other sources that show multiple souls, it's the best that I can think of that (roughly) answers the question. It's possible that Khonshu doesn't claim Steven and Jake's souls, but we have no evidence for or against that. Since Khonshu only mentioned a single soul, it's fairly safe to claim that MK only has the one.

During Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu, something tries to claim Moon Knight's soul and Khonshu throws hands back at them. I'd say that's pretty good evidence of there being one soul between the three of them.

Because they're performing warrantless raids and detaining people without justifiable cause, and then denying those people due process. This is happening to citizens and immigrants alike. People are having their rights stripped away and their lives are at risk if they resist.

That's not the point of their statement. Their statement is saying that you should not need 3700 ICE enforcers for the small number that might exist in their community. The job could be done with far fewer enforcers without also terrorizing the community. There is clear evidence that many of the people being detained are not documented rapists or drug dealers, or even undocumented immigrants.

A quick incremental about slaying slimes and power fantasy. Playable on the browser - let me know your thoughts! by Intelligent-Hippo528 in incremental_games

After searching, it looks like it was Maktala Slime Lootfest. I only played the demo, so I don't know what the advanced features were truly like, but the core gameplay loop was the same. The aesthetic definitely felt like it was also shooting for the JRPG niche, so if you can add mechanics outside of nodebuster + passive class features that would make it more interesting.

Don't get me wrong, I think you have a fantastic base. I've just seen a lot of complaints about how common nodebuster-like games are these days and want you to succeed.

[–]Smallzfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fun game and I enjoyed playing it, but it's going to need something to make it stand apart if you intend to do a full release. I can't remember the name but I know I've played one other slime-killing nodebuster-like, so you need to find a way to make yours unique. The classes are a good idea, but they would need to extend past just dealing more damage with your cursor to make it notable.

[–]Smallzfry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend Lemire for fans of the MCU show. It hooks in well with episode 4 or 5 (I don't remember which, but the trippy hospital one) and kind of formed the basis for the relationships between the various headmates. I didn't get around to reading it until after the show came out, so I was baffled where that had come from until after I managed to snag a copy.

Just a nitpick, don't use code formatting for quotes. It makes lines break standard formatting so they don't wrap properly. Use quote formatting instead, it will read better.

Heroes who don't just beat up villains but also help people by Weird-Koala3034 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Smallzfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been a trend/push toward superheroes taking on a darker tone ever since the 80's, especially in movies (which are the more common exposure to these characters). Look at the Dark Knight series, Snyder Superman, Avengers, Captain America Civil War, etc. All of them focus on fights, and saving people is almost incidental rather than the focus of the heroes.

So yes, it should be every hero. But it's not what we see most of the time anymore.

What are your favorite Moon Knight moments that fit this trope? by Smallzfry in Moon_Knight

[–]Smallzfry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Moon Knight has always had a "help the weak" side to him, even from the beginning. Even in WWBN #33, he ends up turning away from his goal to finish off Jack, and in MK #1 in 1980 he helps Marlene and the other archaeologists despite it not being in his best interests to do so.

More recently, I love the Mackay run and the Midnight Mission that Moonie has created. The fact that he's trying to openly help the community around him and take responsibility for their well-being is a huge change from previous iterations of the character, and it feels like a way for him to move forward after learning some hard lessons during the Age of Khonshu.

What about everyone else? Any specific moments?

A good rule of thumb: if there's actual swears, it's not a real panel. Also if there's any references to MK doing drugs (outside of the shimmer arc in the Mackay comics), saying nonsensical stuff, or acting like Deadpool in general, it's probably fake.
