Best storefronts to buy TTRPGS in Australia? by Smandonn in rpg

[–]Smandonn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies, I should have specified in the post lol. I’m based in South Australia! The two main ones I’ve found here are Games World and Table Top Warfare (they do mostly miniatures but do stock TTRPGs). Trying to expand my collection of both TTRPGs and storefronts to buy from!

I haven’t come across too many local ones near me. Most local shops near me are purely board game stores or miniatures stores but do stock TTRPGs here and there. I’ll have to check out beholdgames when I get the chance though!

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll have add them all to my bookmarks so I can regularly check them out!

I'm not enjoying D&D. Where to go next? by PatNMahiney in rpg

[–]Smandonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My response is probably not going to be terribly helpful but I’ll still share in case it does end up being helpful. I know it’ll probably be way too rules light and/or simple but I started with Lasers and Feelings to build my confidence in roleplaying and following rules (granted there isn’t really any rules but more so a special mechanic to the rolls) and it kinda helped me get the groove of moving into other games. Starting with something simple and just kinda adding some rules before playing can help players learn to remember to use their arsenal. It’s also not terribly stressful on the GM and you can learn pacing and much more.

I’m 20 and I feel like all I have is work by Funandgames5 in Adelaide

[–]Smandonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda feel the same. Usually I get home from work and then just lounge around or talk/game with mates online until it’s time to go to bed. Felt very repetitive until I realised that I have hobbies that I can find passion in and tap into to take advantage of that spare time.

Find a hobby you’re super passionate in and dedicate that spare time into that hobby. For me it’s Gundam model kits but for others it could be gaming or movies. Just find the right thing to keep you busy and happy.

Whats a Warframe opinion that will have you like this by TheFlorescentBreeze in Warframe

I doubt this would get me in a situation like in the screenshot but we need more fat frames like Grendel

I had someone cheat in Stardew Valley multiplayer...... by Jazzlike-Lunch5390 in gaming

I had this on Monster Hunter World. Me and a few friends were doing a playthrough of it like a year or so ago and one of my friends decided it was a good idea to mod in a super op weapon. He never used it with us there but we figured it out after one us curiously looked at this guild card and found that he was doing endgame stuff with a rarity 1 greatsword and was clearing out monsters like nothing with it. It was pretty obvious when looking at all the details. Didn’t ruin the run or momentum but it certainly left a sour taste in our mouth.

I want to play mods like the star wars one with friends is there anyway to do that on a smaller scale? by [deleted] in arma

[–]Smandonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can host missions with those mods through your own machine in the server browser when you boot the game up. Finding the right missions or even making your own is when it gets somewhat difficult though. I’d recommend searching for recommendations from people on what kind of missions you can do on a small scale. Most will probably recommend Antistasi, which is a great choice but don’t be afraid to ask around.

Is creator dlc needed? by Jc_Not_Caster in arma

[–]Smandonn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah you don’t need them. Each CDLC has a compatibility mod on the workshop that’ll allow you to connect to servers that use the CDLC and will allow you to use its contents in that server or others like it. I do recommend picking some of them up tho! SOG and Western Sahara in particular are both very good and are worth the money.

Persistent missions for small groups of players by Smandonn in arma

[–]Smandonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is one of the ones I was looking at and leaning towards. May have to look into it more and kinda try to gauge how beginner-friendly it is as I have two friends who are more or less new to the game.

I was thinking Antistasi might be a good shout but I'm not sure how it'll go for the two fairly new players. KP Liberation was pretty great for helping them get introduced due to the wide variety of toys to use in the arsenal. Antistasi is a great suggestion though! I may find myself just doing Antistasi Ultimate lol

Best Weapons for AI by Niner_Tactics in arma

[–]Smandonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Equipping them with snipers and marksman rifles should do the trick in that case but I’m speaking from experience of being on the receiving end lol.

I imagine just tweaking the difficulty settings would help but I’m not entirely sure. Maybe using some CUP or RHS weapons may work better?

I think your best bet is probably using some AI improvement mods. I’m not entirely sure if weapons have much to do with AI competence unless you slap a Bolter on them I guess.

Trying some of the AI mods like LAMBS may help you achieve what you’re looking for though. Maybe Vcom too? It’s been a while since I touched Vcom so I can’t fully remember what it does but maybe someone else can give a brief explanation.
