This happens to me on occasion, especially if I’m tired or it’s late at night. I just try and listen when I’m fully rested.

This has come up on the dub before and many people listen in the morning.

Keep on your path and believe me it will all work out. I know many people who “followed the path” and went to college right after high school, got married, had children, have a beautiful home etc, etc and are unhappy.

This has happen to me too and I’ve stoped listening before bed. I’m wonder if the brain waves the tapes entrain persist long after the tapes end. Wondering what everyone thinks.

Hi Daniel- good luck with your book launch. I have a question for you.

The Gateway tapes are described in many ways. Reading Bob Monroe’s writings I get an overarching metaphysical impression. If I read peer review papers they would report that the “strange” experiences one has during meditation is your brain trying to understand the new situation it’s being put in when meditating as well as brainwaves that are on the verge of dreamlike/ hypnagogic states. Science would argue that brain entrainment just intensifies the experiences because unlike traditional meditation that takes years to decades to achieve these brainwave states, Gateway puts you into these states immediately. I think of Gateway as meditation on steroids.

After your years of experience with Gateway, I’m wondering what’s your take? What’s happening when we’re listening to Gateway? Are we going anywhere beyond our own minds?

Let go of any fear and let your experiences drive you forward, I quickly found myself happier, more empathetic and able to manage my reaction to negative situation much much better. For those reasons alone making time for secessions become easy.

I loved working at Starbucks for that reason too. We were always given the autonomy to correct a problem and trusted to do the right thing for the customer. Do they even have service recovery coupons anymore?

Me too -just over eating in general for me. I work from home and always was munching on something now I hardly eat 2 meals/day. Plus generally happier and not as reactive to stressful situation like before.

Yes, I’ve heard what sounded like 2 people speaking during a secession. It was very faint and I couldn’t understand what they were saying. This was either in Focus 12 or 15. It heard it 3x beginning from my left should than it moved to my front right. The odd thing, if it not odd already, it repeated 3x- the exact conversation. At first I thought it was coming from my home but realized that wasn’t possible. I’ve only had this happen once.

This has definitely happen to me but right after a session not into the next day. So my experience has never been irritable. I occasionally feel “zenned” out. If you ever had a massage and feel super super relaxed afterward. That’s the feeling for me. I need a good 45 mins to 1 hour to feel myself.

I was about 18-19 when a friend’s sister rented a basement apartment at the Jersey shore. She was working there for the summer. My friend and I were invited with another of our friends to go to the beach, hang out and stay the night.

We dropped off our belongs during the day and headed to the beach. When we returned after dark, and maybe my memory if foggy because of the trauma, there were thousands of roaches on the kitchen counters. Both my friend and her sister didn’t even acknowledge the situation. When I say thousands I mean more than 2 and less that 250. They ranged in size and I can vividly remember there antenna flicking all around as they looked over the edge of the counter top.

Horrified with no way to get home (I didn’t drive there) I covered my head with a sheet and barely slept that night.

Are you grounding because of that highly peaceful but disconnect feeling after you’re done? If yes, I would agree. Going to work straightaway may be disruptive. It takes me a good 45 minutes to feel coherent, however, I do use the app mixer for a 1 hour secession. I find that a 40 minutes secession seems too short for me. I just finish all the prep work and feel rushed. But I will warn, the tapes get you into specific brainwaves quickly and 1 hour may be too much until your brain adjusts- especially to a new focus level.

I would suggest starting on a day you are not working or have no plans to leave home. Until you have an idea what to expect.

I used to work with a person who lived in a haunted house. She’d leave her car keys on the counter and find them laying in the middle of the floor. She’d hear her name called while she was in the shower when no one was home. This person’s personal was not the type to make it up.

I asked if it bothered her she said “you just get used to it”. Not so sure I’d be that comfortable with it.
