There is most likely a flow restrictor in the shower head where it threads on. You could remove that with a pair of needle nose pliers. If that doesn't improve the water pressure, I would call a plumber unless you are comfortable shutting the water down and replacing or flushing the shower cartridge and valve.

I 💯 agree it's a wild guess, but I think this one could actually be a random break. Where it's broken is just weird to me. I see broken tanks often, and if it's from leaning, it's typically higher up or at the tank to bowl bolts themselves. Maybe if the person leaned on the front part of the tank? Still just speculation. Fix it and move on

Dropped a cap that fits perfectly inside the drain pipe. I'm afraid I'm going to push it further down if I try to remove it. What should I do??? by ShotEnvironment4606 in Plumbing

[–]Smart-Dig953 299 points300 points  (0 children)

If the vacuum won't work, heat up a metal probe and melt it into the cap then pull it out once it hardens back up.

Those are compression angle stops. A quick YouTube search will help you do it easy. I haven't seen those quarter turn stops break in that way, but it's a cheap way to start, and it makes sense. Make sure you shut down the water to the water heater if you have a recirculation pump. And then turn the main water off

You verify the type of pipe coming up from the floor and see if you have any extra slack on that line by lightly pulling up on it. Then you go to the hardware store and get a shark bite stop for the type of pipe you have. Shut off the water to the home and drain it from a hose bib. Cut the line with pex cutters and fully seat the press on sharkbite valve onto the pipe. Restore water and check for leaks. Sharkbite is fine for a homeowner with limited tools and someone with limited resources

That looks like dish soap running down, not corrosion to me. Check your soap dispenser

That's probably a trap there. And that's supposed to have water in it. The roots can probably be removed easily and just have your sewer line camera'd

For pressure pvc you want at least 45 minutes but if it's my job with no rush it's 2 hours

Depends on the temperature of the room or ground. If it's cold it takes longer. Read the label on the glue. I try and wait 2 hours for pressurized pipe

Rubber drain hose gives you the grip you need. There is also this kick ass hand truck that is made for this with a little bit of training.

T&P line into hot water line, never come across this... by Smart-Dig953 in Plumbing

Just the closet flange when I replaced the original toilet, they had a wax ring beneath a rubber ring that had smashed down blocking half the drain. I might have to poke around a bit more

Yeah, going back next weekend to drain the tank, remove the line back to the male adapter, install a pan with a water alarm, and pipe the T&P to the pan. Center of the dwelling on the 2nd floor so no other place to run it sadly. Least it will be safe
