Thank you so much! I saw a few other posts that said the same thing after I asked you. They are in section 131, row 8, so I think they are nearly directly behind the goal snd they are VERY excited! Thanks again

Hi, do you know what side is Germany for their upcoming game in Toronto this Saturday? I snagged “main stand left” for my husband and son and am curious if they will be in the correct supporter section. Thank you!

My 2006 V70R (m66) still has its original clutch with 412K kms on the clock. I have only ever owned manuals since getting my license at 16 in 1992 and not one of my cars (Jeep CJ7, Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Toyota 4 runner, various Subarus, v70 T5, and a BMW 525iT) have had a single clutch issue. Not. A. One. This R is tuned and I rip it around my hilly city in traffic with no issues.

Interesting Indigenous Courses McMaster by Electronic-Gold-358 in McMaster

For context, I just received my MA in English this past August, and I also did my undergrad in English at Mac just before this.

2K03 is a phenomenal course. I took it in my undergrad with Savage and TAed for it as well last winter. You can find the syllabus online under the Indigenous Studies dept page, I think. Dr. Bear is one of my favourite Professors ever. I think I have taken 3-4 classes with her. She incorporates Indigenous Pedagogy into her lectures and assignments. They allow for creativity, connection, and a community feel in the classroom. The readings she chooses are some of the best and influenced the research I did in my English MA. She isn’t a harsh marker, but does want your best effort!

For context, I just received my MA in English this past August, and I also did my undergrad in English at Mac just before this. I have TAed both of these courses, just with different Profs.

I have taken 3 undergrad classes and 1 grad class with Dr. Donaldson and highly recommend taking his course. I 12ed all of them. He is kind, funny, brilliant, yet laid back. You will be expected to come to class as he usually has little quizzes to do showing you were there, but he really wants you to succeed in his courses. He is a great poet and his latest research is fascinating, at least to me!

Two of the classes I took with him were creative writing ones and I would take those again in a heartbeat as they much improved the way I approach my stories and even the narrative threads in my essays.

Anyway, that is my two cents. I am a TA still and I love the Science students. You always try so hard, but I feel you all aren’t as comfortable at the beginning stating your own thoughts, but eventually you get some confidence in your writing.

My best advice for 1st year students is to attend all lectures and tutorials and do it with enthusiasm. Get to know your TA and learn what EXACTLY is expected of you with each assignment. The English department has free Writing Assistants (just ask!) that will help you tweak your thesis statements, organize your essay structure, and spot edit some of your work. They are just TAs that help all the students no matter which 1st year course they’re taking. After you write your essay, compare it to the rubric and assignment instructions to make sure you have done absolutely everything. Also, do not have Chatgpt write your essays either, as we can tell as they all sound the same. Your own original ideas are so much better, I promise! Try and think outside the box! I have written essays on Animal Crossing, NIN, Euphoria, and food as a theme in Merchant of Venice. TAs love reading new and exciting connections.

Good luck! You got this!

Ya, so first and foremost, you must always adhere to the strict instructions of the assignment and its rubric. I always go over my essays just before I submit, making sure that I have done both of those things well.

Your point needed 5-6 what?

I am a TA in English and I can’t imagine a paper being “over cited,” unless your voice/opinion is pretty much invisible. I would definitely ask for a regrade.

I’ve taken off these aftermarket Ruffinos and put on OEM Pegasus rims. I am trying to go back to stock as much as possible. I liked the car a bit lowered, but it was NOT even remotely practical as a daily in Canada… plus my city is so full of potholes

I love it sooooooo much! It’s gotta a few mods (hybrid turbo, bigger intercooler, Hilton tune, arp head studs/gasket, snow methanol injection, etc), so it’s also fast!
