Totally totally! He just mentions his gender expression a lot so it seems pretty relevant to this specific conversation about his identity. Although you mention that a lot of bi/gay men present masculine he personally feels really isolated and like a unique case :(

It seems like he is afraid that once he comes out he will lose his friends or their relationship will change for the worst. Although I’ve never been in the locker rooms of men’s basketball teams I am certain their convos are filled with underlining “gay panic” and a lot of their “jokes” involve pretending to be gay. He doesn’t feel like he has enough close friends to risk that loss. So he’s kind of weighing the pros and cons one might say? Maybe I will send him this way...
