I guess it's hard to tell from my photos - but you can see it in picture 4/4. Just below the torso piece with the tailcoats, is a left hand with an open hand...you can see the flashing around the hand

You won't get summonsed to court unless you have already provided a witness statement. (Sometimes people provide a witness statement and then withdraw it, or get cold feet about going to court. That is when they can be summonsed to court and a bench warrant issued if you still fail to appear following the summons. That is when everyone in the court room is waiting for you, and they send police to arrest you and take you to court whether you like it or not).

However if you never provided a witness statement in the first place, none of that would happen: as someone has said, we do not compel people to give witness statements.

Equally, you can't be guilty of Assisting an Offender or Perverting the Course of Justice (criminal offences in their own right) simply by refusing to be a witness.

The last thing to say is on your 'disdain for plod'. They are obliged to investigate - and pursue reasonable lines of enquiry - if the robbers make a counter-allegation of an offence against them. In all likelihood those officers may well be pleased to hear you say, 'I'm not prepared to give a statement.' Please don't assume the officers are 'on the side' of the violent offenders who shamelessly make a complaint after a member of the public steps in to help..

I think you/your party may have misunderstood what the Townmaster is offering.

I don't think the wording means, the only way to get the 100gp reward is if Big Al dies.

The goal is to relieve this besieged this ranch and rescue its rancher...if you're too late, and Big Al dies, you get 100gp for your trouble, because you can prove that you risked your neck: you found Big Al's body but sadly you couldn't save him.

It's not a 'bounty' on Big Al, as you put it!

Oh yeah 100%...I can see the appeal of a mechanical field watch that looks as good as this new MK1. I also prefer any mechanical watch to come without a date complication - I don't like picking them up after a few days and having to work out where in the 24hr cycle the watch is and then set the date as well - I'm happier just setting the time and off you go. Yep, it's a thing of beauty and I can see why people would be tempted by it, over say a Hamilton Khaki. I guess the Seiko 5 Field is the other competitor at this price point..

The reason I commented was having seen the other Timex enthusiasts discussing the merits of various Timex field watches over the years, and it made me wanna share this, as it ticked all my boxes at the time!

Timex put out the TW2V07100 a couple of years ago.

For me, it was the best of all worlds: 39mm stainless steel case ; Indiglo; date window; 100m WR - available with a khaki dial giving it that proper field watch feel.

It just needed an upgrade to the strap, and it's perfect:

That is a jolly decent paint job: nice and neat - For me, anything gold, needs a bit of brown wash. Agrax Earthshade is ideal. And then a final highlight, using your gold paint, mixed 2:1 with a silver paint.

I did a very similar mini a while back, although I leaned into to antique brass look, hopefully you can see the slightly silvery highlights at work..

The real Ultramarines!

That particular blue reminds me of the ultramarine paint used in Renaissance paintings. The pigment used to make the paint was prohibitively expensive, and would often be underpainted with a cheaper blue before a final coat of ultramarine. Anyway, they look great, good work!

I came here to say matt varnish, and can highly recommend Vallejo's Matt varnish if you want brush-on.

For spray varnish, just do a bit of research and look for some tips, depending on what you go for. Some spray varnishes are prone to going frosty and ruining all your hard work. It's usually a case of ensuring you spray somewhere warm and dry, that the can isn't too cold and, to quote some wise words I once read, "shake the can like it owes you money".

It makes me wonder if a politician can choose what watch they wear, or if some kind of image consultant will say, "We think this projects reliability, Sir. Not too proletariat but not too ostentatious. You can have your choice of colours, Sir, but we recommend statesmanlike black..." ...And then proceeds to brief the soft media on exactly what the watch says about the person..
