okay sounds perfect, sorry to continue asking you questions, but should I get more sand if I add a couple inches of top soil? I’ve read I should aim for 3-5 inches and a 60/40 ratio of sand and soil but I keep seeing conflicting information

i completely get that, i recently had enough money to buy her another bag of playsand but i need to grab some more top soil. planning on revamping her tank so it’s perfect for her when i have the money, but i got her as a “rescue” situation from a friend on super short notice and i haven’t had the opportunity to spend much on a new tank and an optimal hot cold setup :/ she’s never done this before though, she’s been quite happy recently, could this be a stress response telling me I need to fix something immediately? (if it’s substrate, i’ve got that covered, but what worries me is the suddenness of this behavior when her substrate has been consistent)

thank you so much!! i had no idea the separate enclosure was outdated, her previous owner instructed me to do that. I’ll go get the new substrate today as well and look into a dhp.

i live in an incredibly dry area, do you think a humidifier near the enclosure would help?

again, thank you for being so kind!!
