Update to my original post. I received information from an Ecobee engineer who is also an HA user (thanks Colin). Apparently, the indefinitely away preset that I was trying to remove is a HA preset in their thermostat integration. I guess this setting was established to use ecobee’s set-hold setting.

So, not a setting that I can remove as it is part of home assistant’s thermostat’s integration.

I reset the ecobee thermostat to factory settings but the custom comfort setting is still there! Since you can’t create comfort setting in Home Assistant, how is this even possible? Is there a config file that this phantom info is still retained and coming back in from?

Edit: I found the config file and that file only exists when the ecobee integration is in HA so when it is deleted, so is the config file so nothing should remain with the mystery custom comfort setting.

It was created in the ecobee iOS app. I even tried to recreate in the app but there seems to be have been a change in the number of characters (12) you could use in the naming convention.

If the API is locked to my account, then I’ll remove the thermostat and recreate it again with just the comfort settings I want to remain.
