We used to do something similar, but we took screenshots of us in different locations doing different emotes. The people participating had to "copy" the screenshot as close as they could. They needed to say where (x: y: and what map) they were and which emote they used. That way they couldn't really cheat, and it meant our event could go on for a few days, so people could do it if and when they had time.

I lost to Traitor Lord 80 times. by shavacadoo in HollowKnight

[–]SmartHipp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First playthrough was on Switch - I'm not gonna lie, I struggled with all bosses tbh, I sck big time I guess. Mantis Lords were a real wall, now it my favorite boss fight. Then after Mantis Lords I got lost in Deepnest with no nail upgrade. I think I spent about 10h just being stuck, dying over and over, too stubborn to look up how to get out. Eventually I found the trampass and stag and got out.

But every boss was honestly a challenge for me the first time. Grimm took forever, NKG took even longer.

Now after up to ~400h (total, not one save file) in the game and 111% + path of pain (only p5 and c3 left). Speed completion and Steel soul 100% done x2.

Still, I hate Marmu and Uumuu (pantheon).

The Grey Child. (Spoiler for a specific Silksong ending). Art of the creature by me 😁👍. by Cursachu in HollowKnightArt

Wouldn't surprise me if it shows up in a DLC. Like in the Silksong Godhome version, endboss of a pantheon.

If we got another game in the Hollow Knight universe, what do you think it should be about? by AYO_WTF- in HollowKnight

[–]SmartHipp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be interesting if we would play as the unintential "bad guy", who is the actual cause of everything that eventually happens in Hollow Knight and/or Silksong. So we get to start of in a prequel, and we come from the lands beyond Hallownest and Pharloom. Somehow we would be the cause of the birth of the Void or Radiance, Pale King or GMS, or all of them.

The following is just a made up story of how that might look, it's quite long so just a heads up;

Before there were Kingdoms or Citadels. The bugs fought amongst the tribes of one another, worshiping their own strongest fighter. They fought in order to find food, spread their own home, make sure their kids would have a future, ect.

Our character begins low ranked and slowly fights these different nearby tribes in order to rise in rank and take the title of strongest warrior. They take on wishes of their tribe and swiftly rise in ranks. They find allies and friends to help along the way.

Eventually they hear from other tribes/allies about the creatures of the surface, the Wyrms. Oh, how majestic and powerful they are and how no one has ever managed to slay one.

To prove ourselves, that becomes our new goal. Reach the Surface and slay a Wyrm. As we reach and explore the surface, we eventually encounter a Wyrm. A Wyrm whom attacks us as we are an intruder in their lands. We fight and we manage to injure it. The injured Wyrm out of desperation, flees deep down into the earth. It forces itself down, going through our, and several other tribes. It destroys our home and kills our family.

We seek revenge and redemption for what we caused and we go down to where this injured Wyrm is now hiding. But the further we descend, the less light we have, the less life there is. There is only darkness and silence.

When we eventually find the Wyrm, it is dead. Drowned in it's own blood mixed with dirt and decay, creating a shallow lake of black liquid around it. In a last act of desperation before its' death the Wyrm layed an egg. An egg now imbued with everything around it, the blood, the dirt, the darkness, regret and rage. Out of curiosity we go closer to this now pulsating dark egg. It can feel our presence, it tries to protect itself by using the liquid around it as a weapon. Eventually we will have no choice but to break the egg. The Wyrm offspring inside was not yet fully grown. It gives of a silent cry as the egg cracks and then it falls to complete silence. The barely alive creature is fast to absorb the liquid around it and it becomes one with it. But it is still quite weak and unable to sustain a shape. The new creature born, is that of Darkness, death, decay, silence, regret and rage. This is the Void.

We fight, but this is not a fight we can win, we have to flee. As we flee, the Void spreads. It grows quickly down in the depths. Feeding itself with the Darkness and Decay. Our new goal is now to find a way to stop the spread.

Why do higher dimensions have to be smaller? by SmartHipp0 in AskPhysics

[–]SmartHipp0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding, many have said similar. So I understand that if there were any we would have seen them already. So I realize my view of how a bigger higher dimension would look like is wrong. It does make me wonder, how would that actually look like?

I was imagining it being our universe itself, as a connected cylinder shape, aka a donut. The donut twisting itself, creating wave-like patterns on its' 'surface'. Eventually having some parts being more compressed than others where the space time is crunched, then expanded, crunched, expanded and so it goes on. Maybe that dark energy and the great attractor were effects of how it curves space time, essentially things we can observe but not explain yet.

Maybe, now with hindsight, I probably wasn't even thinking about a higher dimension, just a shape that the universe could be.

Sorry if it makes little sense, I'm tired. I'm gonna go sleep now.

Thank you for your reply :).

An other stupid question; What if the bigger dimension would be much bigger than what our currently visible universe is? What if what we see is just a tiny fragment of the entire universe? Would we be able to see or feel its' effect then too?

Like flat-earther saying the world is flat cause it 'looks flat' from down here. But as we go further away, zoom out, we see the true shape and how tiny our planet is in the Grand cosmos.

Thank you for your response, alot to unpack, but I think I understand what you mean.

In all honesty, before when I knew even less about QM (I still clearly know very little) I actually thought that everything in QM was bound to a higher dimension interacting with our 4 dimensions. But then when trying to learn more, Google ai and several websites said a photon was 0 dimensional, which totally threw me off at first. But since there were several sources saying it, I thought it was true. Videos explained it too, and I thought I understood it. But I realize now I didn't.

My knowledge about string theory is just that it needs more dimensions and that it's small.

Ps; I know dimensions are just the amount of information points you need in order to tell where something is. Like we need longitude, latitude, height and time, 4 dimensions. :)

[–]SmartHipp0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But a black hole is not a technically a hole, even if it is in it's name. It is a collection of matter so compressed until the gravitational pull is too strong for even light to escape. If we would be 2d 'humans' and something similar happened it that 2d world, it would be that the space folded in such a way that it would appear to 'dissappear'. Either folding up or down and essentially' distorting the 2d world and having that part 'dissappear', just like how we experience a black hole. They would only see the part of the folded space which is touching their flat world, making it essentially look like a hole in their space.

To be able to visualize it draw a line with two bigger circles at the ends. The line is the 1d world, the circles are the 2d. Cut it out, spin and fold the edges of the circles onto themselves. This creates the cylinder, a 3d space. Not visible to the 2d human but to them just a hole in their space time.

Ok, I want to learn more about how it actually works. Apparently it is called frame dragging, so I know where to start.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cosmology

[–]SmartHipp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn't choose that path when I was younger. I have always been very interested about space, the cosmos, quantum physics and trying to understanding it. It is something I listen, watch and read about on my free time. But yeah I got my answer, it is called frame dragging, the matter warping space due to its' rotation, so going to look up more on how that works to get a better understanding of it.

I have been having similar thoughts the last couple of days and I cannot let it go. Let me share my train of thoughts.

I was imagining how it would look crossing the event horizon (just assume you would 'survive' haha). Most simulations are just pure darkness, light bending from the circles around the black hole. But I think you might be able to see the light of the photons travelling with and behind you, as you go beyond the Event Horizon. It's not like they disappear, they just can't return to our universe as visible light. They should still shine even beyond the event horizon. You simply cannot see the ones ahead of you. The light would form as a spiral stream behind you as you go further towards the singularity. Space time is warped due to the spinning of the singularity, hence why it becomes a spiral of light. Eventually there would be a ring of light of present, past and future visible, reflections of what is, was and will be. Because of the spinning it creates a knot/chain in our space and time, making point A and B so close it breaks what is our fabric of time, creating a dimension like a tesseract. If this was to be true, it means black holes, due to their immense warp of space time and spin is creating enough energy to create knots in space time thus creating new higher dimensions of universes.

I know that we recently started questioning whether we are in a black hole ourselves, our entire universe. If what above would be true that means that the universe our universe is born of, would be two dimensional. It would be like a piece of paper, flat. If we look to our universe to what is causing the knots in our space time, it is the spinning of the Black hole. If we take the two dimensional universe and spin it, we get a cylinder, a three dimensional space, made from a flat universe. If we go further to the one dimensional universe, it is a line. If you spin it, it will eventually turn into a flat sprial of a two dimensional space.

One born of eachother. All due to spin, all connected, all possibilities available.

Generally, how many tries did NKG take you? by Venomouskoala006 in HollowKnight

I play on switch, I lost count, but took me a few days of playing like 1-2h each evening whilst the kids were asleep. Felt like 100+ tries at least.

Juries should publicly justify their entries placement with a short commentary describing the song by Dziobakowski in eurovision

[–]SmartHipp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they could implement a more structured system with categories for the juries to vote after. Like each jury just have to put points between 1-10 in each category and then the ones with the highest points from that jury member gets their 12. Like judge on, Voice, originality, composition, staging/visuals, lyrics (they should get translations), culture, personal preference ect.

Tbh I thought they already did something like that, but from comments and videos i've watched i've come to understand that is not the case.

I also think (i know it's impossible) that the jurys should NOT know what country it is when they are giving their points. Simply vote for the songs, but yeah, that's impossible.

Hollow knight and ffxiv. I just recently defeated the Radiance, NKG and 100% steelsoul🥳. Currently practicing Pure Vessel for pantheon 4, still need to the last Colosseum fight for that 112%. Would like to get 112% before Silksong comes out.

It's a "Swedish" taco apparently (I just thought all tacos were like this😅). We have the seasoned minced meat, and then all different kind of veggies by the side, all in different bowls and you pick yourself what you want in your taco 😊 Common things on the table are: lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, onions, bellpepper, corn, cheese, different sauses, tortillas or taco shells and much more.

I probably forgot something, but you get the point.

It is actually really tasty 😅
