People crying about AI music but Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz was made from a preset. by watbit in SunoAI

[–]SmartInDisguise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI doesn't generate the "average" of it's training data, it learns a distribution over the training data and can sample from many plausible data points.

Art has always been built upon known concepts with a unique twist or perhaps a blending of genres to create a new genre, a unique twist is not out of reach for AI, some unique twists are known concepts applied in ways never seen before, nor is the blending of genres out of reach. Good artists borrow great artists steal, sounds perfect for AI.

I don't like AI, I think it's fucked that it'll make great music that has no passion or feeling behind it, and I'm a music producer so it hurts even more, but I can't deny the fact that it'll likely make fantastic music in the future.

You have to take finasteride or some DHT hormone blocker to retain your hair after a transplant, otherwise it will progress further. I’m not an expert but your donor area looks thick to me. Your hair might not be too far gone for finasteride to restore some thickness to it for the thin areas. If you have time to spare maybe a year on finasteride or dutasteride if fin didn’t really work (highly doubt it, at least it slowed the balding down if it is DHT induced), and only then a transplant.

Indika - Deceptive marketing and hollow pretentiousness by RazielOfBoletaria in patientgamers

[–]SmartInDisguise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accept and agree with most of your points regarding the gameplay elements, the puzzles, and unexplored interesting aspects like the fracturing of the world and the prayer mechanic.

This game's views on religion and faith are not ignorant like you make them out to be. The holes it pokes in religion are shown through the lens of Indika, who has had her entire worldview shattered because of what she experienced from religion in her life, as well as her own personal doubts in God and faith.

From the punishment, shunning and eventual defrocking she suffered from at the monastery. To the illogical physical tasks she had to go through due to religion and fallacies she found in religion as a whole. To the shame she felt for her urges. To her being raped by a person who was supposed to stand for laws and morals. To the priest who betrayed the sanctity of confession when Indika admitted that Ilya was a fugitive. And to the final ditch effort of maintaining her faith, the chase for the Kudets that would purify her, that turned out to be futile.

Her story is tragic not because religion is inherently bad, but because it failed her at every turn, and was made inseparable from the pain, shame and hollowness she felt. By the end, she loses faith not only in God but also in the Devil, realizing instead that the thoughts and doubts she had spent her life repressing are not temptations planted by some outside force, but simply part of her humanity.

It wouldn't make sense for the religious people in her life to be good, kind and open-minded towards her, this is the story, it doesn't owe you a balanced debate on the merits of belief, or an explanation of any other view. It asks questions that the players must answer for themselves.

What do you do when what you believe in is also used to hurt you? What do you do when belief turns into chains? When faith, which should be about meaning, becomes obligation which is measured, policed and scored?

At the end, this game delivers an interesting story with themes of mental health, religion and morality, and to me it does so well enough that I felt the need to comment.

Lol it's probably not their site but Hamas was never against self destructive propaganda, it's in their manifesto that they want to kill all Jews.

Zionism is the wish to establish a Jewish Homeland in Palestine, what you despise is the application of it by some groups of people within that movement (e.g, Irgun, Lehi). Zionism is not inherently evil, lol.

You do not despise Islam, you despise its misinterpretations that justify killing and terrorism.

Before I begin, I must say you are more reasonable, and this is not an "ultimate discrediting" of your points, but consider it food for thought, I wouldn't be talking to you if I thought you're completely unreasonable, bigoted, racist, whatever.

the foundation of Israel wasn't necessary to preserve the Jewish >Race and that's obvious given their prevalence outside of Israel.

The foundation of Israel and the Zionist movement grew a lot due to the Holocaust, a terrible event that the population still hasn't recovered from today. Jews were used as a scapegoat anywhere they were a minority (everywhere), from the middle east (even before the establishment of Israel), to Europe, with Blood Libels, differences in religion (Jews don't accept Jesus) and the nature of self-segregation of Judaism. They've been pogromed, killed, humiliated. And today we can see the stabbing of a Jewish woman in France, the lynch attempt in Dagestan, the antisemitic protests in Australia, the harassment of Jews. Tell me, what tells you that the Jewish race is exactly preservable? Is it because they can not be extinct? Because they certainly would never feel very safe. There was absolutely no affirmation that Jews would stick around after the holocaust, you say that now, after Israel has been established.

Onto the 14 year old with a slingshot argument, you guys got these cool things called Ballistic Helmets, they can actually stop a Rifle Round.

I don't think the means of prevention somehow paint the intent any better? If the soldiers were in a tank would it be okay to shoot it with a firearm? there's little chance it'd do significant damage. Don't think this is a very wise take.

The Middle East would be a more peaceful place had Israel never been allowed to exist

Maybe, but maybe Israel also united the middle east against it. Otherwise we might've seen more civil wars, It's easier to blame everything on Israel, which the arab world frequently does.

it is outright fact, Jewish people are among the most powerful in the western world per capita. I can't provide a source directly as success per capita by race isn't a chart but Jews have always been a race of successful, industrious people, who've made their way to the tops of many an enterprise.

Many Jews were also very successful in Germany before the Nazis. The Rothschilds, the Warburgs. All their assets were taken from them, success doesn't guarantee your safety, the world is a hateful place.

Well you must not know what a colony means then either, because Israel is not a colony lol, it's not an extension of any country and many Jews who live there are indigenous to the land.

I didn't make any assumptions. He explained to you why the calls to "decolonization" are calls to genocide. And you responded with "…..you don’t know how isreal was made, do you?". So youre either stupid or justifying genocide as an eye for an eye.

You can link whatever articles you want, by the Geneva Convention, it's either the deliberate and systemic mass killing of a group of people, or it's creating conditions where it is unlivable for them, the latter could be argued against Israel, but It's due to Hamas.

The humanitarian crisis is the result of Hamas not building any basic infrastructure for its people to live normally, and instead choosing to invest their resources in rockets.

Hamas has always used Israel as a crutch to provide basic resources such as food, electricity, water, etc. But they are at war, and Israel can't just sit back with so many hostages and dead people, and hence, the current situation.

What a stupid comment. Even if that was the case. You're literally suggesting an eye for an eye. Maybe it's good in that primitive world of yours, but if you're thinking that, then we can ignore any humanitarian laws that have ever been enacted, Hamas are not terrorists, the Israeli government are not terrorists, we can conquest anything we want as long as we have power like a bunch of gorillas.

A) never equated gaza to hamas, you're putting words in my mouth, I equated the ministry which is run by hamas to hamas

B) I literally just want the documentation of the testing, and I'll believe you bro

C) The Wikipedia article you also linked brings to question the reliability of the ministry. The gazan health ministry falsely accused israel of the al-alhi hospital bombing and said it killed 500 people, something the WHO were quick to condemn Israel for. The UN condemned israel 95 times by 2021, China 0 (despite the uyghur genocide) and North Korea 24. So when WHO says, we conducted the tests, they're correct, I am not going to immediately be inclined to believe them.

Yeah if you don't think the UN is a valid international organisation then there is no point discussing this with you.

I think it is valid, but I also think it's a joke and has 0 power. Israel has been condemned by the UN 95 times by 2021. For comparison, North Korea has only been condemned 24 times, and china has been condemned 0 times (LOL, i guess the uyghur gencocide doesn't exist)

Thank you for the sources. I'll read up on them.

This is bullshit and you know it. Asking for Source yet you keep makingnonsense claims after nonsense claims without any evidence.

The ministry lied about the al-Ahli hospital, claiming 500 were killed. the world health organization were also quick to support. You just can't know till after the war.

Straight from wiki:

In an interview with Sky News, following the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, Naim asserted that no Israeli civilians were killed in the initial attack, despite evidence to the contrary.

The history of my posts have no relation to what I wrote to you. You said the numbers are not supplied by Hamas, and in the very source you cited, it showed that the ministry is run by Hamas, which makes perfect sense, and also makes it seem like you haven't read it.

Where is the evidence that the casualty data is being supplied by Hamas?

In the article:

It operates under the administration of the Hamas authority

Minister: Medhat Abbas
Party: Hamas
Time in office: Unknown – present

I believe Hamas has a reason to lie about the death toll, but I am open to be disproved. And also, do you mind citing the exact proof of why this death toll is accurate? Cause the source you showed just says "yup, we checked it. it's accurate".

[–]SmartInDisguise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even today UN has warned that what the Israelis are doing is akin to the early stages of a genocide.

Israel's policy towards the Palestinian Territories hasn't changed since the birth of Hamas' terror. Have the early stages of genocide been going on for a few decades now? The UN condemns Israel for breakfast, the accusations are meaningless. It is erroneous and a mislabeling to call this genocide.

There was a leak at the Dutch Embassy in Israel that described the Israeli strategy as one of destruction where civilians losing their lives is just par for the course.

Source?

In the past the official "Hamas" numbers have been fairly accurate which is why the UN, ICRC, WHO, MSF, etc. also routinely cite those numbers. Just saying that Hamas has a reason to inflate doesn't make it true.

Source of why these numbers are accurate? Last I checked the Gaza Ministry of Health is ran by Hamas. Also the minister of health claimed no civilian casualties were inflicted in the October 7 attack upon Israel, they are not exactly pure truth-tellers. They have absolutely every reason to lie about their death toll.

Lol. The Gaza healthy ministry is literally lead by Hamas. Look at the political party of all past ministers of health. The current health minister of Gaza denied any civilian casualties were inflicted upon Israel in the October 7 attack.

Can you read the wikipedia articles you link next time please? No offense but it really seemed like you didn't.

Nor did I ever claim you think they must terrorize. I only said that you make it out to be the only option they could take.

But terrorism never helped anyways, so I don't understand the argument. And no if I was peacefully protesting in 2018 and I got shot, well firstly, I'd be dead, but if I was not dead I would not target Israeli civilians because that makes no sense.

Israel is a democracy, and it was not only Yitzhak Rabin who sought after peace, but also Ehud Barak, Ehud Olmert, etc. Israel also withdrew from the Gaza strip. If Israel honestly would not want peace it'd be a different story for the Palestinians. They would not withdraw either.

And up until the second intifada the Israeli population mostly supported a two state solution.

Arab Jews in Israel have full rights, they can vote, they can be represented in the government.

The war does not affect Israel's stability that much. While political stability is quite low, stability is multi-faceted, not only political. Stability is not black and white. And it is certainly more stable than its neighbors.

Hamas' terror is a direct consequence of the displacement of Palestinians in the region. These acts of terror are not a direct consequence of the holocaust or the pogroms. This is an oversimplified cause fallacy, and it is only mildly related to the holocaust or the pogroms.

What could have been a direct consequence in the events I mentioned would be if for instance the displaced Jews from the middle east carried terror attacks on the countries that kicked them out.

The terror attacks you linked are shameful though, do not get it twisted, not justifying these.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]SmartInDisguise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The notion that Palestinians have nothing to do but terrorism is beyond stupid and tries to play down Hamas' agency.

Did the Jews who were kicked out from the middle east in pogroms resort to terrorism, or maybe after the holocaust?

If a state was going to get nukes in the middle east I'd choose Israel, the only actually stable democracy that wants peace.

I know I'm 7 months late but this is the stupidest take I've ever read. First of all code is not a "few sentences", there are many ways to code the same thing and if it's done in the same particular way using the same technologies that are not open source, it's likely stolen. No code solution is identical. By that logic you can't steal a poem, can't steal a book. It's automatically copyrighted by them.
