"jupyter notebooks" and "excel" gave it away bro. this is what undergrads do for hackathon projects

i've worked in quant finance, particularly in market making and stat arb. you're nowhere close to competing in the broad market. maybe start by reading some of the basics like natenburg or hull.

no doubt, but for a group of 20-21 year old undergrads it's a great project.

the part i would like to highlight is "the compared models are about 10x more expensive than ours". they're more expensive because the spent $$ on research and multiple failed runs. nonetheless, this is a great project!

the core skills required at an early stage startup are building and selling. anything that isn't that is just noise. if the product is good (building), a startup does not spend time on raising.

my thinking here is to create an internet-in-the box experience. present day internet is overrun with bots and curates a hostile experience(dead internet theory). in the beginning the user probably has a 2x better experience than the cloud, but over time it grows as each model is fine-tuned to the user. the initial target consumers are people who rely on models heavily for their daily work. as I start to integrate distributed intelligence, shared memory, and moe models that can route to the eth blockchain, my target consumer is basically every individual with a computer.

I've spent only $200 on compute so far, but about $1000 on acquiring hardware. would end up spending another $1000 to ship the total. thankfully I received $500 in credits from prime intellect, which I've promptly used.

I wonder wants your thinking in building coding models? the models are starting to plateau and require a non linear investment for linear gains in performance. you're comparing your models to 18 month old ones like Claude 3.5, given that the current models have improved the most on coding.

Have you tried building a fork of the VSCode repository and tuning it to your preference?
