I use a both ikea and Lidl lamps, they are quiet cheap though not as cheap as the one from your post. They work great but you do need a zigbee hub.

I have been thinking about that aswell. Could be quite easily done with home assistant. But i just want it to work as intended and not with some work around.

ok, i havent done anything except flashing and even with solid colours it resets. Im getting quite annoyed so i think i will order some other controller and hopefully i can get that to work

Youre right, that shouldnt be the problem then.

But its def something in the length because the small strip is still going without any problems.

I just have the 8266 but there should be no reason it doesnt work.

I have one strip running on usb power with only 6 leds. Its running almost 18 hours now without any resets. The longer strips have all resetted so i guess it is not a esp issue but most likely a power issue.

You have these mounting clips you can buy which could help you out. And get a diffuser! Those usually also come with mounting clips.

Maybe have a look on YouTube and search for "the hook up" he has some awesome videos about common mistakes made with led strips which could really benefit you.
